  1. So I won an auction on ebay from the guy up in the couve...and I had him ship them ground, cause another ebay member does that with sucess and I know people have done it with success...but they sent it to the wrong facility and now it will not be here until tomorrow... He said he packed them with pure oxygen and decent sized bags, so I am crossing my fingers...just wanting to hear what other people think...
  2. Well, if you have a pump that is submirsible and you have it in the sump and it is just laying on the bottom of the sump, you are having vibrating plastic against the acrylic, that is of course going to be loud and noisy...If you found a piece of rubber, that would not leach anything into the water and set that under it, it might cut down on it alot...also if you put some foam under the sump, that might help and then lined the stand with foam you might yield some really good results, the foam is not that expensive and worth it, before you start buying a new pump or cutting holes in your wall...
  3. alright, well two people gone...guess this is not going to happen...oh well, full retail here I come...
  4. Alright so this is what the price will be... 1. 5-10 units: U$195.99 ( Wavysea Regular) U$219.99 (Wavysea Plus) 2. 11-15units U$188.99( Wavysea Regular) U$209.99 (Wavysea Plus) Who is in for this? it is a good deal, 50 bucks less then retail for brand new...
  5. I could only find the is the 250, Thanks for clearing up the price issue (i did not look to hard (laugh) ), even if you went for a bigger one, and wanted it on a 500 gal tank, it would be a steel over a deltec or similiar... Your right, I think that if the room is ample the reeflo is the way to go...if you do not have much room, I think the BM is the way to go...
  6. I did not realize the price of those skimmers!!! even with out the pump they are over 1,000.00 bucks...that might be a bit overkill for his tank...I would really consider a bubble master...
  7. No body carries them like you are seeing on some of the online stores...Travis at Upscales said he would consider bringing them in, but when people have to sell them for 600+ (due to distributor mark up) it is tough to sell them out of a store w/ out an online storefront presence to reach that small group of people who can drop 600+ on a colony of acans...
  8. I would look into a reef orca, like the one Randy posted in the other skimmer thread or a bubblemaster...
  9. I see...Very impressive...Those are suppose to be a very reasonable priced skimmer as well...If you have the room, that looks like a good skimmer to go with...Will eat up some wattage, but not much...
  10. Very impressive...I do think that becketts skim better then others, but they are more of a hassle, at least my experience...but those pics are a good argument for that skimmer... (clap)
  11. I have 4 #4's on my 60gal cube and they are great for the money!!!!!!! I will continue to run them...I will however be adding a wavy sea and a tunze nano on a controller, just to get a little more random flow and current in the tank... They are not meant to be hooked up to a wave maker, they are gnarly with they start up again, plus if you had them shut off and a fish got in there (openings on the front are big) it would be chopped up into lots of fun little pieces...I think they are one of the few things in this hobby, that is cheap and works very well...Add them to your list Ron.
  12. Again this is what I recommend, would probably be cheaper then dynamat, or close to the same price...This stuff works killer...
  13. A while back I asked some questions about parts I needed for a computer, i got all the parts and start to look on how to put it together, but I think I am in over my head...is there anybody out there that could come over and help me get this thing put together, I can pay in the way of frags or cash...Please let me know if you have some time and can get this done...Thanks.
  14. the single is tentatively sold... but the Dual is up for grabs, these lights are awesome and are very cool and well worth the money...Please let me know if you have any questions...
  15. If you want an all in one food, either make up your own or I know fanta-seas makes their own and I know Joel at Waves has talked about doing this, just not sure if he has...
  16. http://www.coralvue.com/250metalb.html 250w ballast... AS for shortening the life of the bulb, it may if you have it overdriven, but it is only 10% so I do not think it would be a dramatic effect...plus if you had it cranked down, I would think that would help prolong the life of the bulb...but I could be way off on this thinking...
  17. Coralvue has a halide ballast that dims... http://www.coralvue.com/400metalb.html , it is great, you have to physically do it your self, but is kind of a cool little extra to have...
  18. I really think people are really looking at this whole logo thing a little to literal...I really like the latest ones both Vanz and Andy did...I just think the Anemone one is going to be hard to put on shirts and other items of the like...
