  1. Sweet list for me to drool over! Don't you know I have a zoanthid habit? (laugh)
  2. I am! I am! I know... shocker! rofl
  3. Truer words have never been spoken! (clap)
  4. Squiddy: 0-9 posts Clownfish: 10-19 posts Sailfin Tang: 20-49 posts Angel Fish: 50-99 posts Evil Damsel: 100-149 posts Mantis: 150-199 posts Angler: 200-299 posts Trigger: 300-499 posts Shark: 500 to infinity! Hmmm... toad fish... now that's a good idea! (laugh)
  5. I toss... and don't listen to Jay. If the corals look crabby he tells me to check the water parameters. He hates to test the water! I used to keep until I got a new Salifert kit and they changed the formula a bit. I realized this after I did the test and then read the instructions on the new kit stating not to use the old reagent with the new kit. I was raised by a man, what can I say? Directions? Bah! (laugh) Better safe than to save pennies... I chuck it!
  6. Sweet! Now, why isn't this in the members tanks section? (wife) Keep us posted on everything!
  7. I'm trying to get Jay's best friend Omar, his wife and kid to come and help out, too! I'll even drag my dad with us if he has the day off! The more the merrier! (clap)
  8. (scary) Being up that early just isn't right... unless you haven't gone to sleep yet! (laugh)
  9. But I can't help it... I'm nocturnal! Even as a kid... always missed Saturday morning cartoons. Oh, yeah... for our youngsters. This was in the day of four channels, no Nick or Cartoon Network so if you slept in, no cartoons for you! (sad) I envy the morning people.
  10. Again, congrats! I'll bet your wife is relieved! (laugh)
  11. rofl I have nothing to contribute, just had to pat Reynaldo on the back for making me laugh! Jay and I did watch that "30 Days" episode last night where the guy lived with illegal immigrants. It was certainly eye-opening! Personally, I don't have any issues with people immigrating here... as long as they have to pay friggin' taxes, too! Fair is fair! (laugh)
  12. I think so! We can make that the "official" club site for helping out, but you can add a link to the SOLV site for other possible locations. Just in case someone wants to participate but doesn't want to drive all the way to Tillamook. Florence would work out a lot better for some of our southern members. But me, I'm goin' up there for the squeaky cheese curds and ice cream! (drooler)
  13. But don't think that you have to buy a t-shirt to participate! We want to get as many bodies there as possible so we can help out. We need to keep our oceans healthy for our hobby! And hopefully we can all find a place where we can meet up after we "work", have a bite to eat and hang out for a bit! And maybe have some cheese curds at the Tillamook Cheese Factory for desert! Mmmm... cheese curds... (drooler)
  14. When we added more rock to the 240 we actually set some of the pieces up outside of the tank to "test drive" the stability as well as appearance. It actually helped.
  15. But it's okay to drink at 10am... it's after noon over on the east coast which makes it completely acceptable! I'll keep you two in mind when we decide to put a skylight in. You're both good at making holes in the ceiling! (laugh) Seriously, glad neither one of you didn't get hurt... and that included after Angie walked into the room and found out what you did to her house! (wife)
  16. Beautiful! One of these days we'll make it there too, hopefully! The shutterbug in me so wants to go to Hawaii!
  17. Very nice, Ron! What size bow is that? BTW, if you go into Photobucket into the "Account Settings" you can change the size of the files your pics download as. At least, I think that's where it is!
  18. That is awesome! I can move posts to other threads! (laugh) But Randy... we don't have a cold water board! I think you were joking with Steve though, so I'm joking back at you! Steve, I think that would be incredible if you converted your 850g system to cold! Now, that is something you simply don't see every day! Any tank that houses strawberry anemones gets two thumbs up from me. Incredible pic of those little beauties! (clap)
  19. Nice! I'm seriously considering the faux sandbed for my nano whenever we get around to plumbing it into the big system. I love the look of sand, but I would love the easier maintenace of a bare bottom system. One of these days I'll have that 350 gallon sump! So when it comes time to do my "sand bed"... I'll be pestering you! (whistle)
  20. Howdy! I'm Stacy... happily addicted to the hobby! I researched for years prior to jumping in and getting a tank. Xmas a couple years back we ran across an established 72 bow and decided to buy it. The previous owner originally didn't want to sell to noobs, but we dazzled him with our knowledge. (laugh) It didn't take long for us to outgrow the 72. Jay (Chief), who is my husband of almost 12 long long years, became obsessed with reef keeping. Originally the 72 was my tank. That lasted... oh, heck... it was never my tank. He was hooked the second it was set up in the house. We bought a used 240 gallon acrylic (BTW, I hate acrylic tanks!) that we cut a hole in the living room for so we could have an in wall tank. We are very happy with it! Now of course, since Jay hi-jacked my hobby, I set up a 20 gallon long nano at the beginning of the year in which I showcase zoanthids. I love those pretty, little polyps! It's nice to be able to stick my hands in a tank and not hear someone shout, "What are you doing to my tank!" Course, Jay lets me test the water parameters. That doesn't interest him so much. Gee, thanks! :p Aside from the tanks, the club and maintaining this website; I love all kinds of critters. We have five cats (most of which are Jay's... he is the crazy cat man), two lizards, three snakes and a pond in the backyard that houses two red-eared slider turtles. One of the turtles I rescued as it was trying to cross a busy highway in Eugene. I had to slam on my brakes and run back for her before she became a "Speedbump", which is her name! We tend to rescue animals. It's hard for either one of us to see an animal suffer. And of course, if you don't know where Creswell is, it's about 15 minutes south of Eugene. It's a small town, which we like! And it's near a skydiving place so we regularly see people jumping out of perfectly good airplanes! (laugh) Here's a pic of me... I'm the one who remembered to shave!
  21. Great job with the aquascaping! It's always nice to see crevices and valleys rather than the standard rock wall... which is so much easier to do! Your base rock looks really nice, too! We though about getting some base rock for the 240, but now that we have Bobby's rock, no need! The stand looks very sweet! Give your buddy a pat on the back! Oh yeah... I moved your thread over to the member tanks area. Keep us posted on your progress! (clap)
