  1. I would recommend a small tank like a 10g. They are inexpensive and will work better for you than a bucket. I would also drill the tank for the drain rather than an overflow box.
  2. Keep an eye on the bagaii's if you see one or more start to get picked on get it out or it will be dead. Males bangaii's will not school together.
  3. Give the wet spot a call first. I tried them a month or two ago and they told me they don't get it during the winter time. Also check to see what day they get it as it can sell out fast. Cayes gets theirs on Wednesday so they should have it now.
  4. I also thought that Joel was making the custom 60g cubes himself right before he closed his shop. I could be wrong but I thought he had a connection on the glass.
  5. Thanks for the compliment. The original one is coloring up fast considering he didn't look much different than the new one only what a few weeks ago.
  6. There is even another one that I like even better than MOFIB. It is the MBI (Marine Breeders Initiative). The site has not been around for long but Matt Pedersen & Matt Wittenrich are moderators on the forum. Matt & Matt are probably 2 of the most respected breeders out there right now. The site is www.mbisite.org You should check it out if you are interested in captive breeding of marine organisms.
  7. So with all of the stuff that has been committed so far there will be over $1000 worth of items that will be raffled off at the meeting!! Lets get a big audience for Matt.
  8. As another surprise for this meeting will be the attendance of Randy Reed from Reed Mariculture. He will be delivering their donations in person and will be in attendance for the presentation. I am sure there will be some time for those that would like to talk with Randy while he is here This is a must attend event. It is very rare to get two people with this much impact on the industry in one room for the afternoon. Matt is probably one of the most knowledgeable people in the fish breeding hobby and Randy is one of the owners of the Reef Nutrition line of products and one of the largest marine aquaculture product companies in the world!
  9. I got a call from Nuri Fisher this afternoon. He is the owner of PE Mysis. They are sending a CASE of PE Mysis blister packs for the meeting. I will be getting it next week.
  10. In addition to the presentations Reed Mariculture will be sending up some products that will be raffled off and I will be donating a pair of Platinum Clowns that will be raffled off also.
  11. It is not impossible to raise them. People are raising them now. I will tell you that it is a lot of work and very slow but it is possible.
  12. Matt just PM'd me. He is bringing up a couple of books and Reed Mariculture is sending some stuff up for the meeting also
  13. Going to try to drum up some extra funds for the club. Mike you may want to post this up as bait to the other clubs you've invited
  14. Sorry I was hoping it was earlier then you could still be there for part of it.
  15. If I remember correctly it is a 9 volt battery.
  16. Thanks Matt. I will update the original Bio in the first post. NOW FOR THE NEWS THAT EVEN NOBODY ON THE BOARD KNOWS ABOUT. (scary)(scary)(scary) I WILL BE DONATING ONE PAIR OF PLATINUM CLOWNFISH FOR THE RAFFLE AT THE MEETING. Dave
  17. At this time I would propose that the meter NOT be shipped. If we need to get the meter from north to south and vice versa it could be done on a monthly basis at the meetings and the new location arranged for the pickup and drop off. This is just my suggestion and has not been discussed but if I am overridden it is my opinion that the person renting the meter pays the shipping to and from the dropoff location.
  18. Be careful when you are thinking about a 1200 gph return pump. First make sure your overflow will handle it. IMO your return pump may not need to be even that large unless you are trying to use it a main source of circulation in the tank which usually is not the most efficient way to go. A gen-x 6000 with a 3-4' head and not many elbows I am guessing will flow around 800gph. That is still quite a bit through a sump. Of course the pipe size, number of elbows, number of entrances, ect. will help determine better. Are you going to have any other powerheads in the tank for water movement?
  19. It is probably pretty similar to using it for artificial live rock and I would think that it would have to be cured.
