2 part dosing - alk effluent line clogs?

Anybody have a trick way of keeping their dosing tubes from clogging up? I seem to run into this problem with the tubing submerged and with an air gap. Any ideas?

I've heard melev say they should be suspended above the water so they are never wet, but I have no experience

I just saw a thread on R2R, a guy was suggesting dosing alk straight into the ATO line off a tee, seems like a smart solution. That or just dose into the ATO instead.

I suppose...I definitely like keeping my ATO perfectly clean, though

Mine have never done that but I dilute my solution and keep the lines 6" off the surface of the water.

Saw another thread where the guy was saying he just mixes it up with twice as much water as it calls for and has no issues.

I use BRS 2-part at standard strength with my dosing lines about 2” above the waterline and never have problems with clogging.

I do about 1.5x but yea, it seems to avoid most of the problems associated with the full strength stuff and pumps/lines.

I had mine clog once.  The line was bumped at some point and ended up touching the side of the sump creating a nice stalactite of ALK.  As long as they were never touching anything they never clogged.

I mix BRS solution as prescribed and my outlet drips into the sump from about four inches off the water. I have never had it clog but I do have to knock the crust off as it creeps up the tube periodically.

if it touches the water it will clog...  because it precipitates.

I have mine about 4 inches from the water surface.  When I turn the return pump off for feeding they are still 2 inches above water level.  I do have to clean them every so often because sometime they get splashed and start crusting up.
