Bicyclebill
Does it seem plausible that my glass tank is seeping from the bottom joint where the glass sits in plastic frame? It's not going under tank, but on outer pane I'm getting this salt creep at bottom with no sign of dripping from above. I hate to think of breaking down to replace tank!
Blackice
I had a 55g do that, ended up having to reseal it. But I hope you just spills and forgot about it!
Bicyclebill
I assume the only way to reseal is from the inside?
Jeramy
Yes only way to reseal is to completely tear down and start fresh. However that looks more like some water dripped down and settled in between the Glass and the plastic frame. Clean it up and keep a close eye on it . Hope all the best for you =)
badxgillen
I have had the exact same thing happen with one of my old 60 gallon tanks. It some how was ever so slowly leaking from under the silicone and had wicked up through it's own salt creep. The end result was me replacing the tank, having a not too large aquarium made replacing it easier than replacing the silicone. As with everyone else ,fingers crossed that it is just dried spillage. Islandoftiki
Are you sure you've never spilled saltwater down in that crevice? I used to get this same salt creep type thing all the time when I'd spill a couple drops of water down into the seam where the plastic base met the glass on my Fluval Spec. Bicyclebill
Good news. After lots of cleaning and light, I found my drain bulkhead was leaking. When they installed my glass boxes overflow, they put silicone on too that kept the gasket from fully sealing. Many hours later I'm back in business
