I'm a huge fan of Melevsreef and he always talks about how vermetid snails are quite harmless (in small numbers) but their mucus trap can cause serious irritation to corals and he recommends removing them if they're close to corals for that reason. I got two and they're beautiful! I ended up putting both in my tank, was originally going to put one in my daughter's but they're both in mine for now [emoji16] they look bright orange and red under my lights, good sized too! Emerald crabs can be jerks, I've had two in a row devour some of my corals, the recent one an entire frag plug covered in tube corals almost overnight. I thought they were fed quite well too. As far as the palys go I'm sure someone would probably help you out with just removing them if you're worried and don't want to touch them yourself. I have a few types but I don't mess with them much, I've never tried fragging them or anything, I've gave away rocks with them but that's about it. Just pulling out the whole rock and tossing it is your best bet like someone mentioned I'd think too if you're worried about them. Just don't try to boil them or scrape them off the rock, I think that's where people get in trouble with them. The problem is they can multiply and people try to get rid of them or scrape them off a rock so yeah just toss the whole thing or give it to someone maybe?

I believe blue leg hermits are supposed to be bigger jerks than red legged ones, try putting lots of extra shells different sizes so they're less likely to kill snails. Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk

Oh my gosh I just looked up plywood tanks, I never knew this was a thing! Apparently they're built for very large tanks. Three sides and the bottom are plywood while the front is thick glass or acrylic, they use some sort of strong epoxy or something to coat the actual plywood and I'm assuming paint the inside black or blue. Interesting [emoji848], honestly if that's what you have to do for a giant tank I think I'd stick with something under 500 gallons lol. It was originally for either a Red Sea Max E 170 which is 45 gallons or the E 260 which is 69 gallons, so probably up to around a ~75 gallon plus tank would be fine on I'd think. Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk

Welcome [emoji4] and WOW 1,000 gallons!! That is absolutely big by most people's standards I'd think. That's something I'd expect to see at an Aquarium or maybe a Zoo. I think most would consider a 200 gallon large, 1,000 would definitely take a lot of time and $$$$, especially for a first tank. Do you have a tank builder in mind? I don't know much about the whole structural support topic with larger tanks (I've never owned anything larger than a 120) but in your case I'd almost guarantee it's a topic you'd need to look into lol. Free Red Sea MSK 900 Skimmer, needs pump. Located in Forest Grove, picture is not the actual Skimmer but is almost identical, I just got the picture from the internet because I didn't want to pull it out to get a picture... yes I'm lazy lol. Will need cleaned and a pump, I believe it uses a RS 900 (Red Sea) Skimmer pump, I have no idea if you can use other brands of pumps or not for this skimmer. I recently bought a new Skimmer after the pump finally went out on this skimmer so I no longer need it, before I toss it I figured I'd try to see if anyone wants it first. I would love one for the wavemaker in my 50 but it's not a super common pump unfortunately, it's a Uniclife 2100. I really like it and I've been using some mesh cut from an old black mesh media bag to cover the pump so none of my critters get chopped up, it works but I have to clean it every couple days so it would be great to have a nem guard for it. I'd pay someone to make me one but I don't know squat about 3D printing so I don't know how difficult it would be to make one lol Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk

I think most people will tell you that API test kits are not the best, especially for saltwater. I've had some wacky results with API as well in the past, I used them for freshwater tanks for years but switched to Salifert when I started with saltwater. I really like Salifert, they're affordable, easy to read and pretty accurate I think. Elos is another good brand too. Hanna checkers are nice but are more expensive, Red Sea is good too but if you want something reliable and affordable I'd recommend Salifert or Elos especially for nitrates. They're both pretty straight forward, easy and fast to use. I order mine on Amazon, they're quite a bit cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else I've found. Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk

So I think I've found it and jarmitage is correct, it's a epitoke stage of a polychaete or Bristleworm... Baby Bristleworm or the like. They are seen at night and swim fast in a spiraling random motion and appear to bump into things at times apparently.
