  1. I will be back on westside Monday if you are available then
  2. I was born and raised near there. By the intersection of Taylor's ferry and terwilliger. I'm at my mom's there every weekend.
  3. I am on the west side and can meet anytime in the next couple hours
  4. If the inspector is an asshat, like most are, I'd err on overkill and put it in conduit to the bottom of the panel.
  5. I'll look at my dad's garage, that passed all inspections. It might have metal conduit though since it comes directly from the roof through the wall. Then goes from that panel into basement where the whole house panel is located.
  6. Flatworms are nothing to joke about. But good one 😁
  7. Well, I'm probably out. Polyps were out and all. Was trying to catch a murderous shrimp and knocked my trumpet down into the sps. Left a bright green/yellow trail on the glass and instantly burned one of the tips of my CNC piece, like a 1/4".
  8. Disregard all above. Romex IS wired inside walls, period. That is how homes are built. Petvet is right/wrong. Homeowners can work on their homes without permits depending on the job. Insurance has nothing to do with it. Do not call inspectors asking for advice. Inspectors, in general, are idiots. One inspector says this, another says that. I've run into this before. Heck, my dad couldn't get a final on his garage due to inspectors even though literally everything was code. We moved studs, wiring, beams, etc.... To meet code. My dad was an engineer and only paid to have garage built to avoid this bs. It didn't help. I have wired a few grow rooms. If you would like me to see what you are working with send me a pm and I would be happy to take a look and give you my non professional advice. I err on the safe side though. 110 is always wired 20 amp with 15 sockets, I use GFCI or arc fault outlets or breakers. Pm me
  9. Is your ground bare? If it is I think the wires must be bundled in conduit. If it's coated or in a bundled set they don't need to be.
  10. I'm jealous. My garage has one shared 15 amp circuit and power in to house comes on the other side of my house. To have an electrician put a 60 amp sub was like $5k, eventually I'll do it but requires pulling basement ceiling and digging a trench between house and garage. 😬
  11. Your idea works but I would go in the bottom of the panel with the feeders run inside the box, but that's just how I would do it.
  12. But... Conduit is a good thing as it can protect from nails, screws, etc...
  13. It does not need to be in conduit if it's not exposed, if it's in a wall behind sheetrock no conduit is needed.
  14. There are many depending on application. 3M, loctite, JB, some I used in other hobbies. I'd probably look into the ones related to the hobby first. Most epoxies are probably safe once cured. Contact caribsea, they can probably provide the epoxy they use.
  15. The faster it sets the weaker the bond. Slow set is higher strength. Just FYI. Choose wisely.
  16. After so many years growing hydro I fully trust in HD lights. I was always an hps guy since they have conversion bulbs. I will definitely buy mh/florescent fixture if I am able to get a bigger tank
  17. Epoxy can make that happen. Just have to research the epoxy. I've glued cars together as an auto body tech, correctly, I've done structural steel repairs with epoxy. Epoxy is bad as*. You just have to research and find the right epoxy, there are thousands to pick from.
  18. I have a mic that measures to 0.00005 yes that small where a breeze will throw a reading off.
  19. I probably would have used Marine epoxy vs. cement. But that's me and I like epoxy The piece in the pic is at CB's, he's got a lot of nice pieces but wants good money. Travis got me started in this hobby and has been real helpful along the way. Considering I went in for a winter tank for pond goldfish. My Wyoming whites came from him as a mated but not breeding pair. I recommend his fish. All have been great.
  20. I like this pieces, it's at CB's tropical on 181st
  21. We're your shapes glued together from caribsea? I have an arch from them that is actually 3 pieces epoxied together. If you want more selection I have 2 40lbs boxes I can sell out of. These are just normal boxes, not shapes. I'm no longer setting up my reefer 350 so I have no use for them except a few pieces for my girlfriend's 50 cube which are cycling in a 10g
  22. Did we figure out how we are measuring these? Do I measure all branches in length?
  23. I guess with the mh lights on for only 5 hours cost is less plus long bulb life too. Do you run t5 before/after the mh or just 5 hours of light and that's it for the day? I wouldn't mind mh, help keep me from running my furnace in the winter, lol
  24. So how often do mh bulbs need replacing? In hydroponics mh bulbs need replacing roughly twice a year due to output loss. Is that the same with tanks? Look at power consumption too. That costs a lot of $ each month. 3 250 watt bulbs is probably $30+ a month just there, then you still need heaters for when lights are off plus ac to cool room during days 70* and up. Not knocking mh just got to think of all aspects. Heck if I could get 600 watt hps conversion bulbs suitable for saltwater I'd switch to those as I've got several setups that are air cooled. Or even 1000 watt hps/mh.
  25. I think it was a carnival Cruise. Was on Yahoo news a week or two ago but not sure how old the story was. Australia fined them millions I think.
