Thanks for the update! It’s exciting to hear about your progress, and really great to hear the kids are so interested and involved with the tank.
Happy reefing. 🙂
p.s. great photos!

Oh, that’s an EB832, not EB8.
You might consider sending it to this guy for repair:
https://www.fixreef.com/mail-in-repair/
It’s way cheaper than going through Neptune Support and he replaces the fried components with higher quality parts.

I have the APEX led panel. It is really nice and easy to use. but like everything related to my tank... I need something bigger.
The Neptune GRO is only 20 watts. You'd probably need like 10 of them aimed at a parabolic mirror to focus their intensity for a system sized like yours. 🤣

It will keep rolling for about 2 weeks, then it will just be a giant clump spanning multiple chambers in that sump with barely enough room for the pods to move around...

I was afraid some people would show up Sunday because the wrong date was posted in a thread that Flash caught. I’m sorry we missed you. You should have rang the doorbell. I still have a frag I could have given to you and we still have leftovers!
Oh no, was that post something I did by mistake? If so, I was unaware of it.

Ok - so I was wondering why it was so quiet at Kim’s at noon today…. Probably because the meeting was YESTERDAY! Yes, I am an idiot. Sigh. Hope you all had a great time!
I wondered where you were yesterday, but it has been so long since I've seen you that I thought perhaps you were there and I just didn't recognize you. 🤣
Sorry you missed out, but at least you can still watch Eli's excellent presentation we recorded for YouTube. Link posted above in a previous reply.

Thanks Eli and Melissa for making the trip . We are lucky to have such a knowledgeable yet humble expert. Thanks @SuncrestReef for your IT expertise. It worked flawlessly due to you working out the glitches on time. Thanks @Lexinvertsfor coming on time and the oregon tort donations. Thanks @Flash21 (and for donating the mushroom pack )and Kate for coming early to bring the tables and help set up. Thanks to @Sirenafor working her [language filter] off to always provide delicious food. It started to feel like things were more back to normal and thanks everyone for showing up. It was a very interesting and informative talk and I hope we can do more of these.
It was definitely a team effort! Not bad, considering we’re all out of practice with such infrequent meetings.

think this will grow clams in a 24” deep aquarium?
Look at the size of that sucker.
You'll probably need 3 of them for coverage over your new tank. You'll also need the four of us to come back to help you lift them!

I just published a new tutorial on the Neptune DOS. It's sort of an "everything you ever wanted to know about the DOS" in one place. Take a look:

And it's the latest addition to my series of Apex tutorials:

Inside the Trident there are 6 separate tubes that all connect to a central manifold. Water and/or reagents are pumped through the tubes to the appropriate location as it goes through its testing cycles. Many people have had problems where the tubes slip off the manifold fittings, leading to failed tests and leaks. For the record, mine has never had any problems for nearly 3 years now.
