  1. I purchased one of these...http://www.ebay.com/itm/54W-Full-Spectrum-E27-LED-Plant-Grow-Light-Bulb-Hydroponic-Indoor-veg-Flower-/351641594651?hash=item51df78eb1b:g:iewAAOSwzhVWqz5U It works fantastic and my chaeto is growing like mad. The bulb actually has a really great spectrum, lots of reds in the wavelength that algae likes. As with anything, you can spend a BUNCH more money.. but you should maybe ask yourself "am I getting completely ripped off here?" I have a spare if anyone wants to try it,...
  2. I would bump it up to 81 or 82. Just make sure the water is oxygenated. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  3. What is the temperature? Higher temps mean faster ick shedding Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  4. I have a used .. i belive it is a spectra pure unit at work. It will need a new membrane as we have pushed thousands of gallons through it. The best rejections rates as far as I can remember are 2 to 1. What you need for good rejection rates is higher pressure. Something in the 60-70 psi range. We used a small booster pump for this. I'm curious why you would want to drink RO water? It doesn't taste all that good and lacks a lot of minerals that we need. Anywho, I'll ask my partner if he wants to sell the RO and booster pump. We expanded our rain water collection system so really don't need to use the well eater anymore (and the Troutdale aquifer kind of scares me) :( Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

  10. Wait.. you joined the pvc with jb weld... No, no, no!! I would ABSOLUTELY drain it and replumb it. I thought you jb welded the bulkheads in or something. You can not in weld pvc. I mean, you can, but absolutely should not. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  11. The only thing I am aware of that causes foaming in falling water is surfactants. Those chemical compounds in soaps that break down surface tension. Epoxy does not contain surfactants. I would buy a jug of activated carbon and run it until the foaming stops, replace it and run some more Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  12. For whatever it is worth, I really enjoy talks that focus on how to better manage aquariums, recognize certain patterns and avoid crashes. I guess, talks aimed at those that don't have 5 or 10 years of marine experience. The quarantine talk was awesome!! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks Pledo. I have been testing alk and calcium daily. This post is kind of proof how there are sooo many variables to things and how they should be done based on those variables. Sure, if you have a fowlr or softie tank.. why bother? I have a two month old 60G tank with several sps, a decent sized clam, and 3 montipora. So for me, just starting to dose two part, i have to test daily to see what things are doing. Plus I have to kind of prove to myself that this whole notion of "a year old tank is required to grow sps" is simply a case of people not understanding the boom and bust cycle of bacteria in new tanks and how that equates to initial stability and eventual stability as each successive cycle is closer and closer to equilibrium. Just the other day I was reading some post "bacteria in a bottle.is nonsense" they need to eat or they will be all dead". Huh, there is someone that didn't take AP bio. Anywho. Good times, just a lot.of testing right now Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
