I always use a very thin credit card (my petco card works pretty good) then once it's let go enough I slip my fingers under it and gently work it loose. It can be tough if it's foot is in a hole, if that's the case but I really want it gone I get a chisel and bust off a chunk of the rock lol. If you want to get rid of it let me know! DONT TOSS IT YET! I have about 16 bta's right now and the hole you're describing and the way it looks in your last pic looks like it may be starting to stress split. I've had several of mine do this, it will look a bit like it's stretching on the sides. I would personally wait and you could even try feeding it a little, but other than that I'd just keep an eye on it and try not to mess with it too much. If it starts to get a *melty* look (don't know how else to describe it lol) then you can consider tossing it. I've had them look like pure death then with some patience and feeding them come back! I'm not sure if I still have that exact one anymore lol, they all look pretty much the same that picture in particular just happened to catch the colors much better than my camera phone [emoji4] that pic was taken with my daughters iPhone when she first got it. I have probably around 10 btas, all very healthy (haven't had a single complaint! Just traded two to someone on this forum for a nice blue hippo tang) anyway I can try to take more individual pics but most are basically bunched together on two large rocks.
