I had one for a while. He wouldn't touch the algae for some reason. I found him a new home when he started looking skinny.

It's just a 40 breeder. I don't want that big of a fish.

The plan for now is lots of water changes, and pulling it as fast as it grows. I also dumped a bunch of snails in yesterday. I figure it'll run out of food eventually.

I have a mj900 I can part with. I'll plug it in and listen to it when I get home. It's been sitting for a while, so I don't remember how quiet it is.

It's not going under the light. The light I have sits right on the rim, leaving very little room underneath it. Instead, I'm going to make one that hangs over the light with one smaller screen on each side.

Thanks Brad. Jeff was wrong about you. You're not so bad after all. I think I'm going to pass though. I think my tiny fish could slip through the 1" netting. Thanks anyway though.

Skimmer, fuge, and water changes. I'm getting a decent amount of red slime on the macros in tge fuge too though.

I was thinking about that. Where do you even buy black. It doesn't seem to be a common item.

Does anyone have some scrap black egg crate laying around? I need a piece that is 3' x 1' to make a top for my 12g long tank. I bough a 6 line wrasse today to deal with some flatworms and out of control pods that I've seen munching on zoas lately. I really don't want him to jump, but the piece of cardboard I have laying over the top of it right now just isn't all that aesthetically pleasing. Let me know if you have a piece you can part with.

I was wondering about the rocks and sand. I got them all off Craigslist. They were long dead when I got them. So I have no idea what conditions they were in when they were previously set up. Would they start leaching as soon as the tank was set up? It's been running for 8 months now, and this is a fairly new issue.

I got the water tested. Nitrate and Phosphate both showed 0. But I'm sure it's all tied up in the algae. I'm going to up the water changes for the next little while. I feed everything in the tank from tweezers, so I know there I don't overfeed. I also don't really have any snails in the tank. So that's going to happen this weekend.

The only themes are colorful and low maintenance... And awesome.

So... I've been battling GHA popping up all over the 40b. It's mostly in the sand, but is popping up on the rocks quite a bit now too. I just tested my RODI water and it's reading 3 on the tds meter. I know 0 is best, and I'm ordering new filters, but is 3 enough to cause the algae or should I be looking elsewhere?

I want to do an all ricordea nano. Has anyone ever bought one of the ricordea variety packs off eBay? There's not a lot of detail on them, it just promises no green ricordeas. I can get 25 of them for less than 200$. I'd love to hear another opinion though.

I have a few zoas fragged up for sale, or trade for something I don't already have. 5 head fire and ice- 20$ They were fragged from the group on the right in this picture. 3 head raptor rainbows- 20$ Middle of this picture. Mix of 2 fire and ice, 1 raptor rainbow, and 1 mind blowing paly- 20$ mind blowing palys are in the bottom left corner of the first picture. Mix of 4 mind blowing palys, 1 granny smith. Granny smith's are in the top left of the first picture. 5 head rockstars, or rockers...I can't remember, but they came from bombertech. 25$ The picture is terrible, they are much brighter than they look. One of my favorites. I'm always open for trades if it's something I don't already have. Mainly other zoas and lps. Let me know what you have and we can work something out.
