    Blue Linkia

I've had this blue linkia for over two years. Last night just as I was going to bed I looked into the tank and saw it upsidedown on the wetside of one of the MP40's. One leg was almost completely ripped off. I put the MP40's into feed mode and pulled it off. The other legs looked like they had been pressed in a waffle iron. I set it on top or the rocks and went to bed hoping for the best. This morning I checked the tank expecting to see it right where I left it but all I saw there was the one leg that was dangling last night. I searched the rest of the tank and finally found it on the other side of the tank towards to top of the glass. The remaining four legs are reinflated and it looks like it might recover. Only time will tell but I am very encouraged that it moved to the other end of a 4' tank and climbed the glass. This is him two years ago: I'll try to get a new pic this evening when I get home and document the recovery.
  10. Wow, 128 views, 1 reply and thats it. Am I asking too much?
  11. We've got to move soon so I'm going to consolidate the tanks. One I'm not going to move is the FOWLR tank. Its down to a rather docile dog faced puffer and a rather large snowflake eel. The tank is run with a Rena Filstar Medium size canister. I will add more things as I make up my mind what I'm going to do but here is a start. Dog faced puffer: $40.00 Eats like a pig. Will eat as much as you feed it so keep that in mind. Eats krill, clams on half shell, and silversides. Snowflake eel: Large. $45.00 Eats krill, clams, and silversides. Will do laps around the tank in the evening or when hungry. Otherwise need a rocky cave to live in. Probably 24" - 28". Filstar canister: $35.00. Will run you 100.00 new online.
  12. If you're handy you could build a wood box with a door and attach it to the side of the stand. Small holes in the stand into the box will keep most moisture away. You could even wrap the cord with foam at the entry point.
  13. Check home depot and Lowes lighting dept. Ask for florescent light diffuser. I think it comes in 2 X 4 sheets.
  14. I have used a turkey baster to blast water at the base of the foot. This will usually annoy the nem enough to get it moving and then its much easier to remove.

    Acro keeper

I wouldn't mind getting in on this. We don't know each other but there are a few on here that can vouch for me. I'm in the south valley.
  16. This thread is a good example of why I don't spend much time here anymore. While I agree with Arson that people are way too sensitive and need to grow some skin, I also think that its really none of his business where people choose to buy their reef stuff, or anything else for that matter. Chris didn't ask for opinions on where to buy, he was obviously just excited about his new toys and wanted to share that excitement with the group. So we have the tang police telling us we are cruel to put a yellow tank in a 40 breeder, the PC police telling us that we should and shouldn't say about just about anything, and now we have the purchasing police telling us what horrible people we are for buying online. If someone asks for advice, by all means give the best you can, but it someone just wants to share their excitement about their stuff, let them. If you don't like where they bought it, too bad. Get over it and move on.
  17. Thank you all who said nice things about my pic. It was an old one and a bit out of focus. To tell the truth, I voted for Holly's pic, not my own. I'm glad we've had at least 4 Reef2Reef POTM winners from PNWMAS now. Brad, Me, The Clark, and now Holly.
  18. Looks like Holly has a pretty comfortable lead. Some great shots this month.
  19. Sorry i missed this. I had a torsion spring break on my garage door on Friday afternoon and am unexpected house guest also arrived. Looks like a good time was had by all.
