  1. That's great Bill. Looks like you found your answer. Let us know if things change.
  2. Your comment is rude and unnecessary. If you have some constructive criticism then by all means share it. However, is all you have to say is above, you should just go away. These kind of comments do nothing to improve the site.
  3. Shrimp are naturally nocturnal and like to hide in caves and under ledges during daylight hours. This is totally normal behavior. Not to worry.
  4. As Kevin stated,12 weeks of copper is not required. Copper is toxic to all marine life forms. It is less toxic to some than others. The ich parasite is similar in biologic structure to shrimp as they are both crustaceans. Copper is more toxic to crustaceans than to marine fishes. Think of it like chemo-therapy for cancer. You are injected with toxic chemicals to kill the cancer cells. The doctors are being that healthy cells can withstand the treatment while the cancer cells can't. Same thing with ich. The qt period after the copper treatment is to give the tank time to clear of the parasite. To give the parasite time to complete it's life cycle. As to the mandarin, they are very resistant to most parasites sure to their very thick slime coat. Just the opposite of tangs. Tangs have a very thin slime coat. Peng, do what you will, but if you do choose copper treatment you definitely do need a copper test kit designed for the type of copper you are using. This is very likely why your previous attempts at treatment have failed and ended in the death of your fish.
  5. To get a screenshot of the past try the wayback machine. It stores cached web pages. If you can find a cached page that shows your post count that should work. I found one with mine a couple of months ago but nothing ever happened with it.
  6. Never used the compact, but I've got two eheim 1262 pumps doing duty as return pumps. They are pretty bulletproof.
  7. Thank you Kim. Not giving up any time soon.
  8. Here is Freda: FREDA4 There is more information on the facebook page linked in the first post.
  9. Thanks. We've been looking and had others looking since Saturday. She was a rescue living on the streets in Junction City so she's a survivor, but we would really like to see her come back home where she can be warm and dry and loved.
  10. Our little dog got away from our son in laws place while they were babysitting her Saturday night when we were at the club Christmas party. If you happen to live in West Salem, of have Friends who live there would you please keep your eye out. We have created a facebook page with pictures of her and contact information if she is seen. 11. Your link to the problem / bug post is not working, at least not for me. I get an error that indicated the web page does not exist.
  12. I was having trouble finding the site with my phone. You might need to clear your history / cache. Then retype "pnwmas.org" Also the link to the main category from the top of the page is still broken. Says "sorry we couldn't find that." and "You don't have permission to view this forum."
  13. Sorry I couldn't get the rest of the pics up. The site told me that I had reached my limit.
  14. Looks like I found the picture limit for a single post..... Here's some more: Looks like you will have to ckick on the links There was a lot of mingling. 15. I tried to upload these to the club drop box but was unsuccessful, so here ya go. Robynya, aka Madam Secretary holding down the welcome table. Mr President setting up the raffle table Robert, aka badxgillen getting started on the pitcher. Raffle Prizes: kr thats a lot of fish flakes!
  16. That would be super. Let me know if I can bring you something in return.
  17. I followed the links. Are those meant to be inside the aquarium? It is intriguing to say the least. I'm trying to figure out how they might work in a sump.
  18. Aside from flooding the garage floor all went well. Still need to get a heater, SCWD, some plumbing bits, rock and sand, but its coming along. BTW, I just got the Avast Porthole in the mail today. (rock2)
  19. Probably not. Looking for something less bulky. But thanks.
  20. Last night I got the second hole drilled in the back of my 30 cube. Now I need to design a sump. I will go with a 4" filter sock, a skimmer, a return section, and try to build in some kind of ATO reservoir. I would like some recommendations for a skimmer, needs to have a fairly small footprint, not break the bank, be quiet, and reliable. Currently I have a reefstar skimmer that I got with the tank but its rated at something like 200 gal and has a rather large footprint. What are some of the better skimmers out there that would handle a rather heavily fed 30 gal? Livestock will include euphelia, zoa's, gobies, blennies, maybe acans. Thanks for looking.
  21. Just want to acknowledge ScubaSteve. After some scheduling snafu's, we both had some life stuff get in the way, we were able to get together last night and drill the extra hole in the back of my new 30 gal cube for the second return. I'd never drilled a tank before and he showed me it can be done safely and easily. I tried to give him frags for his trouble but he declined. This is what the hobby is really about. One reefer helping out another. Thanks dude. I owe ya.
  22. I saw this linked on facebook. Its a nice writeup about the early days of reefkeeping and how greed has changed the landscape of our hobby: http://reefbuilders.com/2014/12/11/reefers-code-formally-mike-paletta/
  23. I'll take the last stick of putty and the 100w heater.
