Looking the sell my old skimmer. This is an sro 1000 and just and absolute amazing skimmer. This is the higest line in the reef octopus skimmers with bubble blaster pump NOT the cheaper sicce pumps that some of the Other reef octopus skimmers come with. If your looking for a solid skimmer that will Perform on par with super high end skimmer this is the one. Looking to get 250 for this Skimmer as its only used for about 7 months and the pump is about 5 months old and has new impeller. Paid 325 brand new Will post some better pics when I get home.

You can buy a new or replace the capacitor like MVP aquatics said. Do you know that brand of ballast you have?

So you not dosing kalk? Is the 2 part being dosed close to the pump that is feeding that reactor?

The thing I dont like about brs is they don have a big selection of ati bulbs. There are some bulbs that were not listed when I purchased mine last time

Okay if your still looking for a skimmer and want solid machine the only real options you have are the sro line or the swc cone. Eshopps is okay but more of a budget skimmer vs the other brands. The sro skimmers are hands down the best skimmer under 500 bucks and second choice would be the swc. I like sicce pumps but the bubble blasted is know to be better...(a direct copy of the red dragon) If you spend more then 500 bucks then the margin of performance starts to get smaller, then you throw down another 500 for a bubble king but it's not 500 bucks better then say the sro or swc.

Yeah don't use an acrylic top with mh. Buy some an Make your own. You Might not even need it but if you do I wouldn't acrylic.

seriously reef in the sky in one of the most documented tanks in the world. It was totm on reef central and zeovit tank of the month. That tank was so thought and planned that reef central uses it as a sticky to set the bar for any future sps keepers looking to start a new system and if you knew how mnay amazing sps systems have been through that forum it is a pretty big accomplishment.
