  1. Lots of people use it for this reason, freshwater fish prefer harder water anyways. Not sure how accurate it is though.
  2. I plan on wiring two computer fans to a DC plug in. Cheap as you can go. Airflow should probably be pushing in, outwards wouldn't do as much good.
  3. Welcome to the hobby of doom! pet reef shot with bob is sweet. - salem
  4. Very cool setup, no DSB in fuge? The reds in your fuge look soooo cool, I really wanna get some in mine. I have seen some really sexy purple kelps that I want to add one day, maybe you can find them.
  5. Yaaa, got a bunch of Aptasia in my display fuge cuz of the algaes I got. yaaaaaa!
  6. Gotta be one of the best biocube setups I've ever seen.
  7. Up up and away. Gonna be sweet, keep us posted
  8. Sweet red bubble anem. I love the look of those. Everything looks good, you still sport 4 t5's?
  9. Looking good. I have heard people put some kind of foam on the insides of the stand walls to quiet noise. Getting flow perfect is the key I guess.
  10. BRS has a lifetime warranty. I am very happy with BRS, but they both look ok.
  11. I think that Mitchell is an exception. The reason most people say stay clear of clams until tank has been up for 6 months is because the aquarist themselves are new too. The first posts I seen from you was your build thread and you looked new to the hobby. Well new people tend to mess up, but the cool thing is, you are vigulant and a dedicated saltwater marine keeper, and you are the exception. I think you're right too, Bigjohnwoody will be good because he is not new and will be able to do the things you did in order to keep a successful growing clam this small. BTW, Big John, that clam is hot!
  12. Bare bottom would be interestingly easy

    Once a reefer, always.
  14. Ya they are plumbed together, DT that T's off to both fuge and sump. The fuge is drilled high so it won't overflow nor will it really have a lot of gravity fed water when power cuts off. Sump is marked for max level of water, (you can see my crayon marking in the pic ) It's power outage proof. Thanks for the props.
