  1. If it were me I would also remove the shark but treat differently than the tang. I would remove the shark and observe. While observing I would be prepared to treat if signs developed. I would treat with a quinine bases drug. Either quinine sulfate or chloroquine diphosphate/phosphate. (These drugs could also be used on the tang if you wanted to keep with similar treatment methods)
  2. The decapsulated eggs do sometimes have a higher hatch rate. And yes have less hydra, but don't usually last as long in storage. One thing I noticed when I used them was they were much smaller than other brine shrimp that I had decapsulated myself. This may be good or bad depending on their intended use. The brand I used that came decapsulated were called E-Z eggs. I have used pretty much every kind of hatchery and those were my least favorite. I like the upside down two liter method. I have even custom made larger versions up to 10+ gallons. It has always worked best for me
  3. Typical dose is 10ppm or mg/L for 21 days. Can also do 15 or 20ppm for stubborn cases. But like I said there has been mixed results with multiple doses on fish. Their livers basically turn to mush. I have spoken with Jay hemdal who wrote that advanced aquarist article many times about chloroquine. Hes a great guy.
  4. I did this for good customers when I owned my business. There is a lot of liability in treating animals that don't belong to you. You really need a knowledgeable person and one who you trust to make decisions and won't harbor hard feelings towards if something doesn't work out.
  5. When I worked at Portland Aquarium our vet had to buy it for us. We would buy it in kilogram bags. It was also one that the DEA could come in anytime and look at our supply and records to ensure all was accounted for. It is use in the manufacturing of illegal substances haha. It can be good but also quite harsh. I have seen it wreak havoc on the livers of some fish. There is also questions about whether carbon can remove the medication. As well as contributing a lot of excess phosphate to the system. It has its place but use wisely
  6. Going to aquarium of the Pacific?
  7. They are called mesenterial or gastric filaments. Could be from warfare or from a feeding response
  8. Google imidacloprid and bees. Experts think imidacloprid is one of the primary causes of colony collapse disorder http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imidacloprid_effects_on_bees
  9. They stopped selling it for awhile and are discontinuing it I assume due to it being really bad for bees. I posted something about this before the site crashed. I knew this was coming. I was warning people to stock up on it because I figured they would do away with it
  10. Go to badxgillen! He's in Corvallis

  12. Fantastic program. Chris Spaulding there does amazing things. You will learn a great amount of stuff. The facility is awesome. I can't say enough good things about what they are doing there. They also have great numbers in job placement after graduating.
  13. Can't believe these haven't sold. It's $40 for them all?
  14. This event sounds just like what this club needs. To spread the word of good things the club can contribute to the community and not just be a classifieds forum. The original purpose of the club was to do things exactly like what this event is trying to accomplish. You need to vote to decide whether it's worth it? Why would that need a vote? If you don't think it's worth it, don't go. How do doing good things for the environment while also putting the club in good light be a bad thing? I see nothing but good things it could accomplish. Glad to see these kind of events are being organized. Don't always ask what your club can do for you, but what you can do for your club.
