  1. Thought I’d share my new water station set up, because I struggled to find examples online for something this… maybe it will help someone else I was looking for something that fit the below criteria: - fit in a bedroom closet - water containers as large as possible in my small space, with large openings for cleaning - as disaster proof as possible (I’m notorious for bad luck) - water changes are so easy that I’ll actually do the regularly After looking everywhere for containers that fit what I needed, they all cost like $250 each so I opted for the 20 gallon brute cans I didn’t want to deal with a lot of plumbing (more things that can go wrong lol), so we opted to run a split RODI line directly to the brutes with a float valve in each.. one is for ATO water and the other I add salt (with a heater and power head inside). I have a valve at the bottom of each to access the water.. easy peasy Then to help with water changes I decided to use 2 more 20 gallon brute cans with the wheel base accessory, a Sicce Ultra Zero Utility Pump, a Python hose, Python No Spill hook, and a remote control outlet plug I hit from Anazon… this was the magic part for me. I can just plop the pump into the tank and push the button on the remote to run the pump and to turn it off, I then plop the pump into the brute with dirty water and push the button to pump it down the drain. I open the valve in the saltwater Brute and just let it drain into the empty one, wheel it over to the tank, plop in the sicce and push the button to pump the fresh saltwater to the tank, and another push if the button to turn the pump off. Done I’ve had it up and running for a few weeks and I’m loving it!
  2. I didn’t realize this thread was still here! Our little duplex basement tank room was epic 😍
  3. Welcome back! We were around 13 years ago so we’ve probably met.. or at least you met my husband Alex (grassi on the forum). Its crazy how much has changed in the hobby over the past decade!
  4. Probably the best meeting presentation I’ve seen! @Lexinverts do you mind posting the links or names of the products/companies you talked about?

  7. I always start with a cheap hardy zoa and if you want did I always start with a green birdsnest As a newbie, I highly recommend watching the BRS YouTube videos
  8. Hi all.. I still have far too many commitments to dying family members to commit to a position that requires a commitment to activities. I’d love to stay on the board though
  9. Below available in Lake Oswego.. can meet at CnC on weekends 2 Radion XR15 pro, gen 4. Work with Mobius and have boxes for both - $200 each (didn’t check if fans are working, super common for these to go out on radions and easy to replace) 48” ATI T5 fixture, 8 bulbs possible but I’d removed the middle 2 reflectors and hung an XR30 from the middle to MacGuyver this into a hybrid (since ATI makes the best T5s). You can easily add reflectors back in. - $200 with 2 new bulbs included Radion RMS rail with 2 arms, fits tanks 28.5-38.5” - $100 for set
  10. Big thanks to @obrien.david.j for sharing all your reefing wizardry with us! I almost didn’t come after getting some heartbreaking family news right before leaving my house, but I’m glad I did. I really appreciate our reefer community ❤️

  16. Ive been dealing with this and it’s driving me crazy. When you delete it does it delete what’s already programmed or just delete it from the app?
  17. Thanks to everyone for such a fun meeting! I wanted to back out because my tanks were looking bad and it was embarrassing, but I’ll just plan to host again in a few months lol We definitely have some work to do on the equipment swap and will give it another go at the March meeting!

  19. Yep, exactly this. We used to have pretty much all the meetings in someone’s home. It’s fun to see how others set up their tanks and corals that have grown out. This is my first time hosting one, and I’m excited with geek out about corals with a group at my house!
