  1. Check with Jody, he has one he calls Amy's Delight that kinda looks like that. ( I think(scratch))
  2. Just got a glass quote to build an entire tank 48x24x30 3 sides starfire $719, including tempering the bottom. Prices are cheaper when you live 5 miles from the largest glass dist. on the west coast. Hope that helps.
  3. That 300g glass tank may weight a lot, but you only have to move it once. Glass for sure.
  4. Just my 2 cents, but it looks like your noise might be coming from your sump. The unbaffled water coming out of your skimmer, the water flowing out of your fuge (far right chamber?) looks like it is falling pretty far. I would use a piece of foam like the one under the pipe in the last pic and put it around the output of the skimmer, I know that cut down on a lot of noise in my sump. Maybe something similar at the output of the fuge. If you don't have the surging, and flushing at the durso, then it is probably working fine. The mag drive pump is inherantly noisy. I have a mag 12 connected to soft tubing and can still hear it 3 rooms away when I go to bed. Hope this helps, Gabe
  5. Share the love... I am buying one of these, so if I win it will go to tft
  6. I will take a frag depending what it costs to get it to Medford. Will PM.

    Saved my alge blenny

Good save!! When I had my first saltwater tank it was a 30 fowlr in my bedroom, I woke up in the middle of the night to a flopping sound. One of my percs had flopped out and under the tank stand. I was able to get him back in and he lived 3 more years till he did it again when we weren't home...
  8. Bump, cause, well, I still need it gone.... Thanks for looking.

    Moving!!!

So who wants to come down and help me move?(clap) We are getting the keys next Wednesday! Anybody good with a roller? I have to have 80% of the inside painted by Friday so we can move in Labor Day weekend.DOH! Good news is the new tank location will back the garage. I already have permission to frame in a fish room for the equip, and a frag tank setup.(wife) I hope to be ready to move the tank on the 11th. Wish me luck(fingers) Gabe PS... My wife would never come at me with a rolling pin. She actualy likes the idea of all the noisy stuff being in the garage. I just always wanted to use that icon.
  10. +1 on the advice.... Approved by a licensed professional.
  11. I purchased some rics from Grassi back in July, hoping to find a way to get them down here without too much trouble. Well, Alex delivered, couple weeks ago he was on his way south for vac. and made a stop in Medford to get me the corals. Thanks again, and they are looking great!!
  12. Before I built my kalk reactor, I used the method Miles described. I found it desolved best in a gallon of near boiling water, then cooled and poured into a food grade jug. I dosed with a food grade plunger pump, like what you pump ketchup at a fast food joint. I ran a 3/8 hose from the pump to the sump. 2 pumps a day was enough to keep alk up in a 55 without too many big stony corals.

  14. Anchor man Oops a little late on this one.
  15. Oooh man, that looks like fun!!!! Can't wait to see the progress.
  16. Way to go Roger!!(rock2) By the way, those pink rics look great, 2 more new mouths!!!! Ok, my wife has one. "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way" One of my all time fav movies. "You are the brute squad"
  17. Rep point for whoever gets this one (clap) "FFOORRRREEEEEVVVVVVEERRRR"

    Bump, cause I'm curious too.
  20. +1 on the fins being clean. If air cannot pass freely through the fins the coil will freeze up. Turn off the chiller, use hot air not tools to remove the ice, confirm there will be adequate air flow. Make sure there is plenty of room around the chiller also. That should fix it. Good luck Gabe
  21. Thanks for the input guys, BRS looks like a good deal. Anybody have any experience with different quality, different brands? Is the brand name stuff any different than the bulk stuff? Just trying to learn more. Thanks Gabe
