  1. Does anyone have any experience with Gorgonians? Which to avoid, which are more stable? I am looking to trade or sell a large green sinulara, and think a nice gorgonian would fill that spot nicely. Thanks in advance, Gabe
  2. I loved my cherub. Very sad when he jumped. Will probably get another. The only thing he ever picked at was my bristle star.
  3. Maybe 100 to 110 gal. total volume. I change 10 gal. every 2 to 3 weeks.
  4. Very nice. We called ours the great pacifier. Always worked to soothe the unhappy baby.

    Powers out!!!

Only out for a little over an hour, but made for fun viewing of what the tank does in the dead calm. Lots of critter activity.

    Big News

    Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Nice diy! Very simple yet efective.
  9. That is a way cool piece! I also like birdsnest. Fun to experiment with.
  10. I use one anytime I do something that stirs stuff up in the tank. The main reason for not running all the time is I'm not set up for one. I plan on using them full time when I put the sump etc. in the garage.
  11. Thanks, it's beautiful. Gorgeous tank btw!
  12. What is the monti in the second to last pic?
  13. Just a thought....If you don't have room outside the sump for the valve, could you put it on the inside of the bulkhead? You would have to stick your hand inside the sump to shut the valve, but your probably gonna get wet anyways. +1 on always having valves both sides of your pump also. Gabe
  14. Hey Garrett. You have the best collection of clean up crew! Too bad that is never on my mind when I am up thereDOH! Since I am not sure when I'll be up next, how much to ship some stuff to 97501. Thanks again for the great deals when we have been there. That last purple acro I got is looking great. Gabe
  15. I'm a sparky. I couldn't come up but would be willing to answer any questions. Gabe
  16. I would make sure there is no salt tracking anywhere inside. Even seemingly dry it will still conduct very well.
  17. Maybe a sponge? Hard to tell.
  18. Will follow, I have thought about this for my octopus.
  19. Thanks, I have a bunch of rock that has been in the sump for a while. With that I will be killing maybe 20% or less. Shane addressed another concern I have. I want to remove about an inch of sand bed also. I was thinking of sucking it out running a siphon through 100micron filter sock to catch the sand. Any advice on that. Maybe doing a litttle at a time. Letting everything settle for a few days before taking out more. Thanks again.
  20. Very nice piece by the way!(drooler)
  21. 150ish eyes, hmmmm.... coral, new car.... coral, new boat....decisions decisions
  22. Thanks for the ideas. I am going to do a major re-aquascape. Never have aquascaped since I set up the 120 in September, just been a big pile of rocks. My plan is to kill any infested rock that doesn't have a coral stuck to it.
  23. What is the best way to kill nuisance algae on rocks? (bubble algae, calcifying tufts, etc.) I know you can dry it, but I need it quick. What about boiling or baking? Anybody have any experience with this? Thanks Gabe

    Star Fish?

I had to get a Harlequin to rid my 55 of them. They were everywhere, and finaly decided to start eating the zoas.(flame) When I upgraded to the 120 in September I gave the shrimp away to free my red brittle star from the sump.(clap) They are now starting to reappear.(flame) I try to pic them off as I see them. My lobo, candycane, acan, fungia, etc. seem to enjoy the live treat!(enforcer) Gabe
