  1. Serge, if you mouse over the individual pics in photobucket, a set of links should drop down, choose the one titled IMG and copy an paste that particular link into your post, and your pics should show up just fine. Like so:
  2. Shoot a message to pledosophy if you want proof, he doesn't use a skimmer, or at least didn't use to, and has always had amazing tanks. A former member here, CA2OR ran some of the nastiest water around, and his zoos grew like crazy. And as for myself, I'm going to go completely skimmerless on our system, I've never run one, and until I can do our big system, I'm not going to bother.

Kim, take it from someone who has killed more SPS than I care to think about, they'll show extension til the last piece of flesh leaves it, it's just the nature of the beast lol If you look close, at least to me, it looks like flesh is starting to peel away in the pics, if thats the case, then those corals are gonners.

I hate to be a downer, but it looks like, in those particular pics, like you have flesh melting off, if that's the case, that coral is a goner 99.9% of the time.
  6. Jose, for lights, look at some of the 100w LED cannons they have out, here's a link: http://reefbuilders.com/2011/03/12/ecoxotic-100w-led-cannon/ these things are sweet, especially with the footprint they light up, you shouldn't need more than 3, possibly 4 max on that tank.
  7. Check out Ed's reef, he's got some that's just about perfect, it's nice and white, it's not super fine, but it's not CC either, and it's fairly inexpensive.
  8. I'm thinking just dry sand, and then a cupful of sand from Ed's Reef out of his show tank lol
  9. I'm looking forward to getting our system straightened out an put back together, we're gonna try and tear it all down this weekend, and then slowly get everything needed, an then get it all back together, so hopefully in about 2-3 weeks, we'll be recycling lol
  10. Hey Scott, how much was that sand? was it live or dry?
  11. Hell, if you hang out with me long enough, you're liable to wind up like that LOL
  12. Lookin [language filter] good Scott, it's kinda funny, you're getting your 40b ready for fish, and I'm in the process of clearing mine out so I can tear it down LOL
  13. Alex, we need to have you hang out with someone like my brother Danny, by the time you've been with him a week, no one will understand you, you'll be speaking a mix of English, Italian and Cajun LOL
  14. You could also look into using tile, that's what I'm considering once the frag tank is up an runnin.
  15. Brad, it's a good thing I'm in the process of tearing down LOL We'll have to come raid your tanks once the new system is ready man.
  16. We pool our money, buy a dozen or so frags of high end zoos, then once they're grown out, we each get a frag.
  17. Look into a Dart external pump Jose, Bob assures me that they're practically silent.
  18. I've got a 6 bulb T5 on a 3' 40g tank, and as for the flow, I'm running about 500gph from my return pump and an additional 1200gph from my vortech powerhead, and have a k3 that i occasionally use, so no, that's not a lot of flow, and you're going to want a lot more in your tank. Softies, run between 30-40x turnover, and for SPS, well, I know guy's who run 90+x turnover, but 60x is about all you'd need. Oh, an with 1700gph in the tank, my sand doesn't move.

Melanarus wrasse, Yellow Coris wrasse, radiant wrasse, just to name a few, I'd recommend the yellow coris or the melanarus personally, although the radiant is beautiful as well an equally effective.

    frsh water dip

I'm sorry, but I'd rather listen to someone I know has the experience, than some person writing an article. And he's not the only person who's mentioned it's a bad idea, and I've personally seen SPS killed in a freshwater dip, but if you're determined to go through it, have fun, the skeletons make great hiding places for clown gobies.

Kim, Mike's been in this hobby for many years, and his latest tank, a 12', yes, foot, long monster he built himself, if he says don't do it, DON'T DO IT.
  22. Scott, Alex always has frags available LOL You go over to his place and if you like something, he's been known to break off a frag right there on the spot. That reminds me Alex, we're almost ready to break everything down, once we do, we'll be comin over...I'll bring some beer LOL
  23. I'm not sure anyone on here has them, we've tried them a couple of times with our group buys and they always seem to melt.... If you become a paid member, you do get access to the grow outs we do, you might get lucky then.
  24. lookin [language filter] good brad, hopefully you dont overf ill it too much LOL
  25. Franklin, I thought he wore that outfit all the time, just under his clothes, like superman!!!!!!
