  1. Wow! and it gets ugly really quick. It is everyone's right to share their opinion, kind of the wrong place for it though. He is right, that it is the weak that go first, it's the rule of everything. That however does not mean that the new stores go first. Maybe it is a time for change, people buying from certain stores because they have no other option only happens for so long. I for one wish him the best of luck on his new venture, and even as a store owner will shop there sometimes myself.
  2. Just wanting to trade for some zoos.
  3. I have some ORA green birds nest that I can frag up, they will be pretty small though. I also have some unknown birds nest that has metallic silver polyps and green tips. The second one isn't the coolest but really is pretty neat and the frags are generous in size.
  4. I haven't done it myself but I found an interesting article on it here.http://www.reefaquariumguide.com/forum/do-yourself-diy/100901-scwd-mod-dummies.html Hope this helps some
  5. Are you looking for large pieces or frags? I have a mother colony of some nice birds nest as well as frags of a few different kinds.
  6. Well I think I could utilize quite a few different things. I currently dont have a home tank, I need a large protein skimmer up to 600 gallons, or somewhere in the area of. A large calcium reactor, a t5 lighting setup or maybe a vho, prefer t5 though. What do you got?
  7. Pics Okay so here are some rough pics of my "unfinished" project. So as you can see I have a sqwd hooked up to save from needing a powerhead. I currently have a skimmer on it to help clear up the water before I load it up. I took an old refugium I bought off of Craigslist and modified it a little bit to work for this. Eventually I will be running into a filter sock. The water then runs either into the refugium or into the plenum underneath the egg crate. I will be running a compact flo light over the refuge at night and will have t5's running over the tank during the day. As I said, this is just an experiment to replicate the GARF zoanthid tank. To see if the lack of skimming, the type of lighting and flow, as well as overall setup will increase the growth of Zoos like they say it does.
  8. So I have not yet found a school but am still looking. Ithought of a few other things we could use to have if anyone is interested including a net, and some kind of light to hang over the top. This tank has a light built into the hood but bulbs are near impossible to find for it, also you can't use the skimmer with the top on. Just an idea, I am sure there are other things as well.
  9. Hey guys I have been sitting on this colony for a while and as much as I like it, I would rather trade it for some other corals. Let me know what you have, there are around 150+ heads on this and it measures in at over 6x9 with polyps closed. I would be interested in equipment trades as well. P.S look at my thread for my Tanks for teachers. I am donating a nano to a needy/wanting or even mildly interested school and could use a few small items still to complete the set. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-3/979938/P1030278.JPG
  10. Ha ha, I had to rearrange it a bit but I opened it just fine. Thanks for all the help.
  11. No go for the hood and canopy for the second one though huh?
  12. I may very well be interested in the first tank. Can do partial trade if you like or cash is fine. Let me know.
  13. I think that frog spawn and zoas would be great, we all know how much kids love clownfish and I can get one of those to go with the frogspawn. I think a Kenya tree really might grow too big too fast since it is a 12 gallon.
  14. I will do that. I do not have microsoft office on my pc so I can not download it myself ( any chance we can get that posted up in another format?) But when I find somebody I will let you know.
  15. I have a nearly new (used 2 weeks) Galaxy electronic ballast with an agrotech reflector and an Ushio bulb, all used for only 2 weeks. I have the original receipts for everything if you want. I would like to trade for a t5 or possibly a vho setup for my zoo tank. There is nothing wrong with any of these items I just dont have a need for them now. I would also consider coral trades and cash offers.
  16. Hey guys I think this is a great program and I have a nano tank that I would like to donate to school in the Longview/Kelso area. Or really anywhere else for that matter, but I would especially like to see it go local. I would even be willing to help out with the upkeep of the tank as well. Here is the problem, I dont know anything about how this program is structured. So I don't know if there is a list of people looking for tanks etc, etc. If anyone can chime in and fill me in on some of the details I would really appreciate it. I am thinking about calling up some local schools and offering it up that way. If I do should I just inform them of the website? Is there an administrator they would need to speak with? Lastly, I will make sure it has a nice set of corals and live rock in it when I give it out but I would like to know if there is anyone interested in donating lights for the tank and maybe a good hardy fish or 2. Please PM me of you can with any answers.
  17. Hey guys My salinity meter is finally dead, it wasn't nice to begin with but now I need a new one. Is there anyone here who is interested in swapping coral for or selling a refractometer? Please let me know
  18. Not a link to anything but a very helpful bit of information I get asked quite often. here is the recipe to figuring out exactly how many gallons your tank is width x height x length divided by 231 This of course works in any order
  19. Please keep us posted on how this is working for you, I have been very interested in this for some time.
  20. As posted, "make me an offer" I do not have a set price in my mind. Cash, coral, both, whatever. As I listed in the posting I really need a large capacity calcium reactor so obviously that would be my first interest.
