  1. Try a true value or something like that. THe ones you need are called the "heavy duty" ones. I think they generally run 15.00 to 20.00 a pop. You might call Waves though, I seen they had a tray full of them he was getting rid of but I am not sure if any of them were heavy duty.
  2. Feed me seymore, they love big meaty foods and there is no reason you should not feed him.
  3. A lot of those do not have the 3rd prong for the ground so if you are using them for your metal halides then make sure you can use it.
  4. I have a "total 2 part package" that I bought from bulk reef supply a little while ago. I mixed up 1 gallon of Calcium but never used any of it. I just decided to go a different route. Would like to trade for a nice coral or 2 of fairly close value. Recap, it is all there and was never used.
  5. Still unsure of what type of lighting, maybe I missed it.
  6. I am with Lowman on this one. I took his advice and picked up a bucket, ran a few tests and every one came out to be what I was looking for. I have seen a nice improvement in growth as well as color in some of my corals. However this is on the spendy end of salts, as far as salts go. If I remember right you are running mostly softies in your tank, so your calcium levels wouldn't need to be as high as mine. As far as removing chlorine goes, just leaving your change water out to sit for 24 hours will do miracles. However with your new RO/DI you wont have as much to worry about. Shoot me a line of you would like some help setting that up, I can also get you a list of the salts I can get for you. Good luck
  7. I am looking for a set of metal halides. I would prefer pendants but it does not need to be. Would also prefer electronic ballasts. 2 needed, hopefully in the 250-400watt range. Let me know what you have. Thanks
  8. You shouldn't ever try to keep a fish in a smaller then recommended tank.
  9. Yeah, and the spickets are bought at home depot for next to nothing and really easy to install.
  10. How many gallons is this rated for?
  11. How cool, I think I just got one of these guys the other day as a hitchhiker. We will find out, I will load him up with the blingingest zoo's I have.......and if it crushes him.............then he is a different kind, HA!
  12. Thought that someone here might be interested. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/for/1355037083.html
  13. Can we get an update on the tanks, Would love to see more pics! Kudos to you for trying it, what a fun experiment. I have an experiment with a zoa tank right now, but I have to say this is much more intriguing.
  14. You know you can get ideas, suggestions and personal experience all day long here, but in the end that is a pretty expensive coral in a pretty small tank. I would get a book and find out for sure.
  15. It has been my experience with feeder tentacles on chalices for them to be relatively short. Meaning a few inches should be plenty, but don't take my word for it, I would hate to hear of a problem because of my advice. I have had a Lobo reach out around 3-4 inches and kill off 2 of my favorite Monti's
  16. Since I am new to the forum I really have no idea what this grow out competition is about. Care to fill me in.
  17. Ha ha, you and me both man. You tell me where they sell that and I will be the first in line.
  18. Yes thank you, I did buy a bag today. I was not sure though cause I hear everyone talking about #3 Portland Cement and all the big stores carry I/II type. I guess the difference might be the color which I could really care less about.
  19. Honestly the idea is to make my own frag plugs. I don't really mind all of the work and would like to have a bunch on hand. As far as live rock goes are you talking about real live rock or home made. I ask only because if I were making my own rock it would be for the purpose of either making special shaped pieces or just not stripping the reefs of rocks. Thank you for the offer though, I may take you up on some.
  20. Can anyone tell me where to find Portland Cement?
