  1. well at least it wont be left to die in those containers.
  2. This is a topic that has been posted a few different times. But I recommend D&D salt for 1 because it is excellent salt, with stable and reliable peramiters. For 2 because I want to sell it to you, ha ha.
  3. Hard drives are pretty cheap and easy to swap out, but like Roy said new toys are fun, faster and pretty cheap.
  4. If you bought it new then it came with a disc, no question. Even if you don't have the disc if you have a licensed version of windows you can get a new disc for it from Microsoft. If the computer is running really slow then start with control alt delete and see what the processes are that are running and what kind of memory it is using. also I do believe that small parts of some files were wiped out for some reason that quite a few of these can be fixed from updates (once again only licensed versions) You also might check with Acer and see if they have a replacement system disk available, since on laptops they are usually a bundle. A system restore will only work if you set a new point to restore from in the last little while, other wise you might end up taking it back too far. Tpye msconfig in your run bar and see what is starting in your startup menu. Too many items will lag you down, finally do a disk drive clean and defrag, this is always helpful. If you can get the disc and do a fresh install (highly recommended) then that is what I would suggest.
  5. HUh, it was a while ago I went by aquaticus (already closed) and it didn't seem that they had any equipment left in there.
  6. It would be hard to say without knowing the size of your tank and it's current PH (maybe I missed that part) it is very possible that the low PH of your effluent would counteract with the high PH of your freshwater but this really depends on the size of your tank. The sand clumping up inside your tank has nothing to do with your PH (not directly anyway) I would look at a possible algae outbreak. Which all added up would leave me to believe you might have a nitrate/phosphate problem and should be looking in that direction. In most any decent setup your PH will buffer itself pretty well as long as you aren't dosing KH (which you are getting from you're reactor). If you are running a refugium try running your lights over that at night complete opposite cycle from your main tank, the effect will help balance your PH from co2 being released both day and night. If you are not running a refugium then I highly recommend it.
  7. If just in the US I would say Seattle. I love the NW, but if I can pick from US territories then I would say Guam.
  8. On the other end of that my fiance is vacationing with the parents in Arizona for the week and they stayed the night in Vegas on the way through, she said they got a room that was equivalent to a super plush 300.00 a night room we got in downtown Seattle once, for 30.00 a night.
  9. Glad to hear that worked for you, if you aren't running any serious sps then I would suggest taking it back off after a few days cause they do tend to catch some good stuff too.
  10. That's a tough one, generally speaking cheap isn't good and good isn't cheap. I have always felt that you get quality or you get economy. I do believe though that there are some that are reasonably both from what I have heard anyway from some sellers on eBay. I can't remember the name of the store but I am sure that someone will jump in with this info.
  11. I have found that D&D salt does have some particulate matter. Do you have a filter sock, should clear that right up.
  12. Yes Al Gores hypocrisy is amazing to say the least. I personally feel that he is probably doing more good then harm though. However I think maybe he feels he is a leader and deserves the great things for what he is doing. I personally one should lead by example.
  13. I think it's funny when people try to know the truth about global warming when NOBODY in the world can say anything for sure one way or the other. That absolutely sucks about the reefs in FL though.
  14. Ahhhh ha ha ha ha, I literally laughed out loud for a good couple of minutes Eric. I just got this visual of you and this coon having a face off and him walking back and forth on the landing not letting you up. That is awesome.
  15. See now that is why I got into reef keeping in the first place. I just keep buying the wrong fish I guess.
  16. Absolutely stunning!!! Please keep the updates coming this is great to watch!
  17. OK, well I see that but I never bring my tanks with me when I leave. Ha ha, that's OK, I just thought it sounded funny.
  18. Not to take your thread off topic but I honestly don't know, why would anyone need a portable chicken coop?
  19. Hey guys Not sure if this is in the right area but I need a small amount of the thick acrylic cement. If anyone has some that I can use I would be glad to reimburse them. Thanks
  20. All the suggestions are good and zoo's are pretty tough, so pretty much any way you can remove it will work, but the more damage you do to it the more healing it will have to do before it starts growing again. I found that with a lot of different types of rock you can shave it off from under the zoo without even touching the flesh. But do be safe as zoos are very toxic, I have spaced the safety a few times and nearly paid the price. I had it on my fingers once from a large set of frags and much later wiped my eye and the tiny bit that was left that much later still really stung for at least a day. They can squirt you too (quite a distance) when they are cut.
  21. Wow, I leave you guys alone for a few days and you start drinking your skim? Ha ha ha, I agree too much salt for plants, you might be able to open your own smoothie stand though Perry.
  22. I had a good new years. I went out and seen a bunch of friends that I haven't seen in a lon time. Happy new years
