  1. I'm newish around here as well. I'll be nice to you
  2. haha, good looking out Gill. I'll get this as a little something extra for fun. But yeah, good call for sure. I know that Simpsons episode your talking about
  3. Thanks folks, I'll see what I can find.
  4. So my g/f is really supportive of this reefing hobby of mine, and starting to show more interest and enjoy relaxing while staring at the tank. I was thinking of getting her something for my tank for Valentines day. Why buy flowers that will die in days when I could buy her some coral that will last for much longer? (hopefully) Her favorite color is pink. (cheer) I'm pretty new to corals in general, but have a 75 gallon tank that's been set up for about 5 years and doing well. Lighting: I have 2x 46" VHO actinics and a 14k 250 MH. Could anyone reccomend a cool "hardy" Pink coral for me? Heck, if you have one for sale that would be swell as well! Thanks folks! (drinking)
  5. You can watch the Pilot online for free. And of course, the local pub theater (Bahgdad) airs it Friday nights so you watch it with all the other PDX hipsters!
  6. It is pretty funny in moments. Soem characters are pretty funny. Not sure how long it can go though.
  7. looking nice so far. What kind of lights do you have under the hood?
  8. Thanks for the tips folks. What is "Running GFO"? (noob, I know)
  9. I've got the green kind and yeah, it looks like bubble algae. It's a real pain. I've been poppin/breaking them everytime I do water changes, but they grow so fast. I've been told emerald crabs eat it but they never seem to make a dent in it. I'll be listening to here if anyone has any suggestions for us.
  10. This sounds very interesting...
  11. Thanks for all the help folks. Tricky thing is I'm setting this tank up for a buddy in CO, and I'm in Portland. He knows very little and I know just a bit more than him . He has the following overflow piggyback thing for his tank. Continuous Siphon Overflow, 1” Single Bulkhead, 600 gph. http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3579+3642&pcatid=3642 So the next question is what size sump pump should we get to balance this out? am I right by assuming we'd need soemthing less than 600 gph? Should that be enough for a 75 gallon reeftank? Or does he need two of these? Thanks!
  12. Perfect thanks! i'll go check out the threads for some visual reinforcement. Thanks everyone! (rock2)
  13. -It's glass. Thanks for the tip dsoz. I figured it would have to be some sort of siphon setup, just curious how I'll match the pump volume with an siphon volume.
  14. I'm helping my buddy set up a 72 gallon reeftank. It's the some tank I have (72 gallon glass bowfront) except mine has a cornered off trickle overflow area and his doesn't. He wants to run a refugium in his sump and I'm a bit clueless on how to plumb this thing. There are no holes in it and I think we want to avoid drilling it if possible. So we are looking to go over the back with the in and out supply. Total newb question I know, but does anyone have a diogram they could link or post, so I have some idea of how to set this up? If it takes two pumps thats fine, I'm just not sure how to get the water back and forth at the same exact rate of exchange so more isn't going up than down etc. Thanks in advance.
  15. Anyone have $85,000 I can borrow?
  16. I miss this game (sort of) I mainly ran PVP, I had a pretty mean MS warrior back when it was lvl 70 max. I Loved the Arenas and BG. PVE and raids got so boring for me after a while. Spam fest, I get it, its fun in its own way, I just prefered pvp. I had some 19 twinks that were real fun. You get a good matched 10 twinks v 10 twinks lvl 19 WSG, and that was the best time I ever had in WOW. Voice chat... Fun stuff. I cancelled. I now have much more time to do other things. I miss it a lot and wish I didn't have to pay $15/month if I want to hop on and play a BG or something. Plus my gear would suck if I didn't "stay up" on it. Had so many fun hours playing that game....Miss it (sort of)
  17. OHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that sucks, lol, poor dude... How was the smell? Like a moth? lol!
  18. First night I put my Diamond Goby in my tank.... It jumped out! I wake up and come to check on the tank, you know that "morning after" you put something new in and you come to down to see what may have blown up overnight. Well, I couldn't find this guy anywhere... Then I remember reading that they jump sometimes. So I start looking around the carpet and still nothing. In a panic, I open the cabinet and there he is in my sump making faces at me. Dude jumped outta the back of my 72 gallon tank, fell @ 2.5 feet along the wall, landed on a piece of scrap plywood (that is just higher than my sump wall), and flopped into my sump. I couldn't believe it. I tried to think of any other way I it could have happened, but thats my CSI conclusion. I got screening for the back of my hood that day. Stupid lucky bastard.
  19. The god complex boost. (you know its sort of true I love having the tank to stare at and get lost in. Checking out what shell this hermit is wearing today, or the hole that guy lives in now. Oh wow, what is that? Never seen that before...It's a bit of gardening, biology, chemistry, art, animal husbandry, miniature scaling and dedication. All good things for me.
  20. With lazers on their heads!!!
