  1. I have this sitting around the house, you might be after retro fit stuff it sounds though.
  2. No Ac and no chiller so I have got the egg crate off and fan blowing on top and lights cut way back. I have been useing ice bottles and my hobbo chiller (styrofome box with about 20 feet of plastic tubing and a small power head moving water through it). Water hasent got much past 80 at all but its getting old putting a bag of ice in the chiller every couple hours.
  3. I want to clean my other sump, it's realy a 20gl wet dry that I use for my liverock rubble and skimmer. It has a huge supply of pods that live in there, and I need to get all the crap that has settled in there over the last year. Is there a trick to to save the pods or just wast them and let them repopulate from the rest of the tank? My mandrain isent going to like it.
  4. Man thats just scary:eek:
  5. Isent that the one where you rub the stainless steal to make oinon smell go away from your hands?
  6. Thanks Mike Yea thats a good chunck a change, but I guess if now that I got all the cheep stuff in my tank and now am looking at the good spendy stuff I might look at it. Or just make one of you big Guru's come over and help make it all better.(laugh)
  7. Yes doing it twice a year would be far fetch for me as well. As far as adjusting stuff I would then up the water changes and or get the kit I needed. I have never priced a full line of kits, and would I use them up before the expiration date was up and then start worring if there good?
  8. Being that I just live down the road from the store, maybe I should go down there tonight and see if you forgot to lock the door.(naughty)
  9. I was allways told to wash down with tomato's to get rid of skunk smell. Not sure what it would do with Xenia smell.
  10. Ok so now you see what I mean about a good trusted accurate test. I don't mind going into my LFS and ask for them to test for a few things for free. But If I want everything tested and if I knew it was accurate and put down on paper so I wouldent forget as soon as I walk out, I would pay 50 bucks just to have a peace of mind. I don't think it would be right for my to ask a store to run that many test and how would I be sure they all would be good test from the kit or the person doing them? I think stores are there to sell stuff to make a liveing just like the rest of us. I know many stores are friends to most here as well as to me "I hope" and hate to put them under a gun saying you said my such and such is good. I guess what I am getting at here is that I would think there would be a small market for something like this. I would use it once or maybe twice a year and would help some that don't realy know what to test for as well. How many of you ever have thought that one or a couple things might be getting out of wack and don't have the test kit for it and would just like to have the peace of mind that its ok? I would like to hear from some store people about how they feel about when five people come in that day and say "hay test these things for me" and there slammed with people in there store trying to buy stuff. Not trying start anything Sax/Steve
  11. Is there a place in or close to Portland that will do a full test on your water? In full test I mean most or all the small elements and have it down on a sheet of paper. Some of my test kits are old and most the small stuff I just dont have. Some times I just wonder if I am missing something or the salt mix is or my water is starting to load up with something. It just bugs the hell out me when everything else is just doing great and then one sps decided to get a white spot on him then it goes away in a months time.(nutty)
  12. There some realy nice pics in there Rick. I have just got a Porcelain crab as well, fun to watch.
  13. Man that looks so fun and so nice. Now I want to back there again so so bad.
  14. Yes, great guy and great tank. I made him stand there for a hour and talk just so I could look at his tank longer. Got my coral and put my name down for a couple others.(clap)
  15. Are you wanting to stay with MH? Have you looked at full T5 lighting? I have T5 on my 6' tank, Nova Extreme Pro. The thing with T5 is the refectorsand the bulbs that come with the Nova arent very good and need to be replaced in 6 months to better ones.
  16. Oo that is way to cute. I better not show the wife that one or I might end up with two more pets.
  17. Maybe a pic of Mom will help, has nice white polyps.
  18. Bump, just in case people missed it. Someone has to want these darn things.
  19. Well last night when I was doing a water change, the water blew down on him when it got low and blew him out again. The good thing is that when I went to get him with waving my hand in the water to blow him off the bottem to grab him, he was weighted at the bottom alot now. So guess he will never realy stick to the tile for say as I think he is just growing hard base. I guess if it get a calcified base on him I will just glue that down. I will have to try and turn him over and get a pic.
  20. I thought I would just show what I have been trying to do with my Bubblecoral that went bad. It wasent in good condition when I bought the guy and found that my water got low on Alk. So it started to fall apart and I had three little bubblecorals blowing around in my tank like beachballs. After fighting with trying to keep them in a low curent spot in my DT for a month, with no success and frag tank not ready, I had to do something else. So I thought, ok I have to cage them up if there ever going to have a chance to stick to something. So I build some cages with hopes of keeping them from moving from curent and worst critters. I glued some cutup fake brick faceing stuff in the shape of little bowls in hopping that they would stick to the bottem tile for glueing back in my DT. The pic's show 2 left that are doing well. I did have a couple problems with snails getting under the eggcrate and dislogging them and haveing to start over. I am not sure yet if there have a way to stick to the tile with kinda sort of a foot or they just start to make a coral base that just weights them down.
  21. My Devil decided to self frag most his fingers for me, (for what reason I don't know yet) and I have about 18 of these I need to trade or sell. I mostly just want to trade for stuff I don't have but if you want to buy five bucks will do, and you might have to take some damm GSP as well. Let me know what you got and we can get er done.
  22. I was thinking of getting a star, maybe something like a Marble star. The thing I am wondering is will the start wipe out all my hitchicker sponges? I kinda like em being that they have some nice colors like green yellow and blue, but the blue one is just realing starting to work its way around in the tank.
