Do the skimmers over estimate the gallon of tank they say it will do? Say a skimmer that says it will do a 125g would be good for a 60 gallon tank type deal? This is what I understand to be true. I have been told by almost everyone to not skimp on the skimmer. It will only cost you in the long run. I am looking at the MSX 160 OR 200 for a 40B with a 20L sump. Benny I dont think this is a "group buy" I think CCR and mcminn1 were saying mcminn1 should of grouped all of his WTB's in one thread instead of making 3 or 4 threads. That said, maybe if a LFS see's this they could work us a deal if we can buy enough units. I need one and the sooner the better because I was going to start cycling my base rock this weekend sometime. I will wait if we can get a deal on some units. If not I am going to just buy one somewhere. 100-150 gpd will work for me.

DSOZ. I for one dont need any base rock as of right now, but in the future I hope to need lots of it. I would love to have a workshop. I would pitch in a few bucks and maybe if others did the same we could all make a piece or 2 to keep??? If no one has a place to do it we could do it at my store out back on a Sunday, its in West Linn. Let me know if people are wanting to do this and we will try to purchase everything and get things organized so everything goes smooth. I guess the key is if dsoz wants to do this.

What brands do you all use. What are the major differences that you find with the different salts. Is some salt good for FO but not as good for a full reef. Do some salts make the need for dosing your corals less frequent or more frequent Price is a major factor for some but what are you really saving if its an inferior salt. Is it mostly just marketing? How consistent is each product? Has salt gotten better over the years?? If so how? I cant even remember what salt I used to use 15-20 years ago when I used to be in this hobby.
