  1. +1 on this. Many years ago my roomate had two Dobermans that infested our house with fleas. I went and found a Eucalyptus tree and snipped off a bunch of branches and leaves and just scattered them all over the house. Within a week or so the fleas were gone - our carpet looked like the floor of a jungle though - coulda used a couple Koala Bears to clean it up.
  2. You could prolly use that cellophane wrap they use to wrap pallets with when shipping. Just make sure your lights don't melt it.
  3. Those are VERY nice.....The burning question of the day is; Can you get more?
  4. Hey Bob, sorry for your woes.... Which 250W Sunlight Supply ballast do you have left? Is it a Galaxy? One of my ARO's just quit on me and I am in need right away.
  5. Sorry it didn't work out. That was a nice clam. I would wait at least 3-4 more months before trying again. IMO, your tank was WAY too young to support a clam.
  6. Because in the wild they live in a sand-free environment? I think that over the years clams have developed the ability to deal with sand.
  7. That sounds like one of those things that gets posted on RC and gets repeated often enough until it becomes gospel. No-one's actually seen it happen, but because it was posted on RC it must be true.
  8. How long has your tank been set up? It looks really good!
  9. My $.02...... I went from a 125 to a 180 because there wasn't enough depth (front to back). It was almost wall-to-wall rock. Having an extra 6 inches is always a good thing The only thing a 210 or 240 gets you is extra height which requires stronger lights to reach the bottom. The 180 will get by with 250's just fine. Plus the 180 is not so deep that you are up past your armpit everytime you need to get to the bottom. For me the 180 has been a perfect size and I have had absolutely no upgrade fever since I set it up a year ago.
  10. Another plug for Mark Birkett! He used to work for Jason at Coral Reef and did all the tile work in there when Jason set up that shop. He does know fish and can tear down and set up tanks. Good Luck.
  11. Hey Ryan, I got one I'll trade for corals. Give me a call. (Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread)
  12. Just curious, but why do you want to get rid of your bristleworms? They're actually pretty good for your tank.
  13. How old are the bulbs Frank?
  14. Nah. GWB is responsible for most of whats wrong in this country today, but not this. (nutty)
  15. www.dpreview.com is your best friend. They give the Canon T2i their Gold award. I must say it is an amazing camera for the type of camera it is. However, it did fell a little plastic to me. Just last week I bought a new Canon 60D. The thing I like best about this one is the articulating LCD. It's hard to beat when you put the camera in awkward positions, and it's the only DSLR to have this feature. Since nowadays, most of the features are compareable, ultimately it comes down to what fits well in your hand. The new Nikon D7000 gave my hand cramps after about 5 minutes. The 60D fits my big hands perfectly and feels well "balanced" in my hand.
  16. OK. After all the drama over the past couple weeks, how 'bout a little fun! If you haven't tried the Five Guys Burger on N. Lancaster in Salem, you really are missing out on the BEST burger in America (as rated by Zagot in 2009)! Seriously, if you haven't tried it yet, you really need to get there and treat yourself to one. It is the BEST burger I've ever had! All the toppings are free and the Cajun Fries are the best ever. The place is always packed and the peanuts are free. Check it out next time your down that way. I'm gonna be so bold and claim that the Five Guys Cheeseburger is better than the Double Double at In-n-Out. I know that this will be sacriledge for some and for others they won't have a clue as to what I'm talking about, but for those that have tried both, how about chiming in with your opinions. Peace and Merry Christmas!
  17. I have a Logitech wireless adapter that my son has used for his xbox 360 for the past couple years that he'll let go cheap. His xbox is in the upstairs bonus room and the router is downstairs....probably 60-70 feet. It's worked flawlessly.
  18. The general population, as a whole, is not known to be the best informed on a great many subjects. Computers are just one of them. The Nov. elections are another prime example. If people were better informed, more people would own Macs and the Democrats wouldn't have done as poorly as they did.
