  1. I am needing volunteers for In home meetings for the coming months in the Salem,Albany/Corvallis, Eugene Areas. You just need to be willing to host, even if you are not a member. (You are not required to speak, just open your home to our Club.)We are no longer going to be doing Meetings In Local Fish Shops. Our club is returning to In Home Meeting as this is that has work best in the past. We need to put our club back together where everyone can attend meeting. So, this is the challenge; I would like to have offers for In Home Meeting in these areas. Due to the rising cost of fuel we are offering meeings in the North and South. I will buy 2 PNWMAS T-Shirts for the persons that offer their home and host the Spetember and/or November In Home Meeting . As soon as you offer you home the meeting will be set. If you are not able to attend FEAR NOT our Meet and Greets can take the place of your missed meetings. Our Meet and Greets are going to be held a the following. PAPA's PIZZA 1030 SW 3rd St Corvallis, OR 97333 Papa's Pizza Parlor 1577 Coburg Rd. Eugene, OR 97401 Stay tuned, because I will be offering something for the willing and hosting member or participant that host the next In Home Meeting. Thank you in advance, Kevin
  2. Thank you Joel, Stepping up to the plate is what it is all about. I will be posting a Meet and Greet located @ PAPA'S PIZZA in Eugene on Coburg Rd. for later this month. Many in this hobby have children an are not willing to take time away form Family. So, I will be setting this up in a more family friendly location. I will also posting this weekend be posting a Meet and Greet in Corvallis this month. So if your not able to attend in Eugene, then there will always be one in Corvallis. More information will be posted this 4th of July weekend. Thank you advance for your interest and willingness to participate. Kevin
  3. I am surprised that a great idea stops here. Can this thread be revisited; or do we need to call a meeting to really get this program a fresh start. Thanks in advance, Kevin
  4. We will be having a PNWMAS booth at the NW Coral Farmers Market on August 2nd, 2008 at the Ramada Inn and Suites Portland Airport Hotel 6221 NE 82nd Avenue Portland (Airport), Oregon 97220-1302 I would like to create a DVD of photos that people have of PNWMAS activities and their own personal tanks, livestock, and corals. I think that it would be a good way for those not familiar with our group to see what is going on in our member’s tanks and activities we do as a group. We would have the DVD running at the booth. I would ask that people email pictures in .jpeg, .bmp or .gif format to me directly, with the understanding and permission that these photos can be used in the creation of this DVD. Please submit photos by July 14th. My email address is kevinmcfish@q.com Thank you in advance for sharing. Kevin

  7. Hi, And thank you for your interest in participating. What a Meet and Greet really is: A get together for people that share in the hobbly that we are all in.There is not a "meeting" per say, it is just a time to know who is in your area and to use the Meet and Greet to be able to connect other then always online. I understand that local fish shop are not everywhere, but this is a time for them to get involved as well. I will keep you posted as I understand that a shop in in Roseburg and if that is not too far, a ride share would be a great addition to get more people involved. Thanks Kevin
  8. RE: July Meeting As of July first PNWMAS has a new President and Officers to serve during the July 2008 - June 2009 Term. We are currently putting together the Tank Tour Schedule as things seemed to be needing some organizing to make thing more clear. All that I can say is to keep a watchful eye, as this will be figures out very soon. Thank you in advance for your interest and willingness to participate in our club. Kevin
  9. Welcome Benny to our club, I hope that you find this site what you are looking for in a local marine club. Thank you in advance for your future interest in PNWMAS. Kevin
  10. I have been working to find a way to improve the way that we are able to display our tank in addition to our Tank Tours. I am currently working on this project as well. I have been working behind the scenes for the past six week with a local company to put this together in a professional format. What I have to report is that I will be making rounds to member’s homes to add a new feature that is in the design stage at this time. What I will do is come around to member’s homes and be doing a personal video introduction of you with your tank or tanks. I will bring my digital video recorder and shoot a 5 + minute clip of your "Tank Brag"; this will be posted to a new link that will be featured on our PNWMAS Website titled “BRAG TANK” in our member’s area in the next few months. I have been working with a company that is setting this up, so this will be taking place as soon as we can get this out of the design stage. We will be adding a new format that will be offered in a streaming video format that will be added to our website, as well as we will be introducing Pod Cast at the same time. As members, you have asking what is in it for "ME", well these new features will be added before the end of this year. We are going to be looking at doing a trial run sometime before Christmas, and we should have thing working in the Member’s Area by the New Year. If you are interested in having your tank featured, please contact me to be the first to add your name and tank to the list. Please include your in your bio your personal information as well as any information regarding your tank or tanks. Thank you in advance for your input and future support. Kevin
  11. Thank you Steve for your input and great ideas, please keep them coming. Kevin
  12. Thank you Kris, I would like to thank Kris for her time and dedication to our club, as well as helping keep the lines of communication open and productive. I can officially say today July 1st, as the first day of this new term, we are committed to many changes that will ease the strain on all of our wallets. I am currently putting in place two ways to meet in person. First we are going to offer monthly in home meeting, and second, we are putting in place monthly Meet and Greets in local areas for those that are not able to make the scheduled in home club meetings. As your new officers, we are committed to finding ways to restructure the way that we are currently conducting our club in the form of new options for meeting as well as new ways for you to become more involved. IN HOME MEETING I am currently looking for volunteers to offer their homes on monthly bases. My understanding is that our members felt that in home meeting worked better in the past; as well as allowing you to become more connected with members with tanks in their homes. LOCAL MEET and GREETS We are currently looking for your input as to where you would like to hold monthly Meet and Greets in your local area. If you have a favorite coffee bar, restaurant or even a park that you would like to use for the summer, please contact me as I will schedule this as well as I would enjoy being in attendance. Thank you in advance Kevin

  15. Great idea Dennis, I think that it world be even better if we had some information as to what TFT "is"......you know, going to be. Could you put something together that would talk about it, something like a one page outline.
