  1. I'm no AV expert or guru, but from all the different HDMI cables I have, they all look the same to me on my TV. I have a 65" DLP and all pix looks crystal clear. I have cables that cost $15 to $180 (Monster) and they look the same. I don't see any picture degradation, but the images are moving to fast for me to pick out a pixel that is off. Maybe it looks good under an ocilloscope, but I don't watch my TV through that. But if you are running say 100ft of HDMI cable through a wall where there's electrical cable, then I would spend more for the shielding. But for up to 3ft - 6ft, I don't believe you will see any issues. But what do I know.. I stare at my tank all day and that's HD.
  2. Nice!!! Thanks Beth for the update. Have a big order going in... I love the low price!!
  3. Hey Clay, I was there at noon when they opened. Sorry I missed ya... will have to meet up with you sometimes. I picked up 2 dragon faced pipe fish and a Acro echinata... you should get one too... with 30% off, well worth it. And if you haven't been there before... when you get into the shopping center, turn right towards McDonald's and left at the end... you will see a seahorse sign... just park around there and look for a door with their name on it. Not easy to find, but it's like opening a door to a treasure room.
  4. Great looing shop. It's very clean and not humid... glad you had an AC to help with humidity control. Great looking tanks and my girlfriend loved all the fish there too.. I'm glad to see a store running UV on their fish only tank instead of using copper. Will see you when I head back up there.
  5. how much for just the light?
  6. cool bean.. thanks for the info.. will be in Sunday on my way home.
  7. what coupon? I'm registered on your site. Also in Seattle this weekend and like to use it if possible.
  8. +1 for The Wet Spot... they have lots of common and exotic fishes in there. I bought my 2 stingrays from them and are healthy and eating.
  9. Thanks Alex for the ricordias.. you have a bunch of amazing ricordias and other corals. The colors are just stunning. Thanks Jim
  10. I'll take these if they are still avail: 4, 8, 10, 11, 14 Thanks Jim
  11. Does FIOS give you a fix IP address? if you renew the IP address on your router, do you get the same IP address back?
  12. Yeah!!!! Thanks Beth for organizing.
  13. I always wear gloves when doing stuff with my tank.. plus, my hand doesn't stink like anemone or SPS at the end.
  14. Just received a callback from BRS and they said they can't extend the free shipping, but the price he quoted me on the GFO 5gal bucket with shipping is still better than the retail price with free shipping and better than Preferred Buyer price. I hear we need just 1 or 2 more, then we can start the buying next week. Jim
  15. reefcam

    RO/DI units

It's just an RO unit. No DI. But you can add a DI unit to the end to clean up the water. But if your tap water has low TDS, then the RO may strip out all dissolved solid and you TDS meter will read zero.
  16. Don't forget to get a fish taco from Jawz in Kihei or off the truck south of Mekena... may also be planning a trip in August there for my daughter's BDay.. Nice pics... can't wait to go back.
  17. as I always say things before I think (as someone keeps reminding me during an argument)... where is the order going to be ship to???
  18. Perfect.. sounds like we are all on the same page with regards to supporting the LFS which I'm for as well. But this thread was started back in Feb 24. It is now March 23 and I have done 2 purchases with over $200 each to BRS since the posting of this thread. The free shipping ends this Sunday and maybe someone can call and ask if they can extend the free shipping to next Tuesday if we get our order in next week. How many are in? I would be in to get my status to Prefer customer, plus you get credit for buying through them. I have some BRS Bucks that I can also use. Sorry Beth for hi-jacking, but lets get this order going for those whom are ready and if you are still scrambling to get funding (sorry for this), save up for next group buy. Thoughts? Sorry for sounding impatient, but more action and get this going. I don't need anything, but can order if everyone is ready and just stock up with everything I have. PS> Patrick, I have been in your store and you guys are great. But I live on the west side and don't make it out your direction much, unless I'm leaving town and have only hit you up on my way home. For me it's more gas $$ + time and having UPS do the work makes it easier for me. I looked at my schedule and can order from you, but won't be able to pick it up until May, unfortunately. Doesn't make much sense to me.. sorry for the last post about meeting price. I'll get you next time.
  19. I always support the LFS when possible, but if it is cheaper and still gets delivered to my door, I'm for that as well. If you want to sell a bucket of 5 Gallons - 20 pounds Bulk GFO Granular Ferric Oxide for $299.99, I'll come pick it up this weekend or when you can get it in... but I have until 3/28, as that's when the free shipping expires.
  20. I want to order the 5 Gallons - 20 pounds Bulk GFO Granular Ferric Oxide that well over $175. Charles will PM you my number.
  21. Charles, are you starting the next group buy? Plus, I haven't seen your tank... ever!!! I have move to a new place since you have been to my house and have redone my setup.
  22. I have a friend who bought some cold water clams from a japanese store (Umajimawa) and he said they are thriving in his tank and as a result, his nitrate and ammonia is down. Not sure if I'm going to venture that way.. plus they are brown and ugly.
  23. I went to HD and bought a replacement sink pipe (between the main water valve and the faucet) with one that is made of polyethylene (or the refridgerator water line type) and use a john-guest compression fitting to tap off the water line. As for your drain line, you will need to tap into the sink drain line and that's easily replaceable too.
  24. I have a webcam on my tank so I can see it from work... thus reefcam. I use the same name on many different boards. Easier to track me
