    custom tanks

I would love to have that 1200 gallon cylinder. But yes the lighting would be killer. Of course if you have the money to buy one of those you are not really worried about the electric bill or what it costs to set it up.
  2. I know what you are saying(laugh) My wife just says whats it going to cost now? She likes the tank but does not see why I spend the time on it. She does not understand why I come home and just stare at the tank(laugh)
  3. I dont have a ticket but might just show up anyway(laugh) New tank and lots of room so might just have to show.
  4. Sorry to here about your loss(sad) I am not looking forward to the day are dog passes. If you think about it you always get mad at the mess they make and the shoes they eat and the hair they leave. But who is always there for you looking up at you and wagging there tail when you walk in the door. I like my fish but they do not chase me around the yard and get excited when it is time to go for a drive or a walk.

    New Tank

Yes he was sitting in front of the tank for about an hour just taking pics and saying bad one, bad one and so on. Finaly came up with a few good ones. Oh what it would be like to be 7 again(laugh) I think he is taking more tonight. Just got home from Waves with a new fish (sunburst anthea) and some Palys. Maybe he will get a hot of those soon.

    New Tank

Well got a pic of the Goby tonight also a real big Emerald next to him. I am kind of scared of the size of this crab but it has not eaten anything yet(scary) Also just picked up a two spot Jawfish from SWF he has decided to take up residence right under my Duncans so hopefully it willl all work out. I might have to evict him if he starts to undermine them.
  8. Sorry to here about it must be something in the air. I to just picked one off the carpet about 3 days ago. Came home to find him by the tank. Just last week had to fish him out of the overflow(nutty)
  9. It will give it something to bond to along with all the scratchs it might work. Have you tried to get some glass to fix it or called any glass shops to see if it can be done?
  10. So it is 10 o'clock did you try to fill it?(scary)
  11. What was that adjustment? Did you tighten the fitting to much? I also broke a tank just letely ended up just getting a new one. It does suck hope it works out for you.
  12. Well I just put four on a small rack and it seems to be holding on my sons 29. I have about 7 frags on it now so hopefully they will be there in the morning(laugh)
  13. So how many did you have on it? And how many frags were on it? Thanks!
  14. How many did you use for the frag rack? I tried with three and it did not work on the 29. Might try two more for five and see what happens not sure though. If it does not work will try some bigger ones.

    New Tank

Well just got back in town tonight and everyone is doing great. The better half took real good care of eveything and no one went mia. As far as the skimmer will take a shot soon and also of the goby. My son called me just to tell me he came out of the rocks. Was a very skidish fish and likes to hide. And as far as those Duncans I think they have grown even more since the pics. They are huge now.

    New Tank

Well got the skimmer working and everything seems to be doing good. Did not have much of a cycle and put a few things in there. Everyone seems to be happy so far. So far here is what is in there for livestock 6 blue chromis, 1 LM blenny, I 6 line and a Yasha Hasha Goby (hopefully have not seen him yet dove into the rocks when first introduced) Here are a few pics of the tank.
  17. Hopefully he survives. Carpet surfing sucks:eek:
  18. I used to be the same way a beer snob(laugh) But I got tired of listening to the wife complain that the beer tasted bad. I like ale and some of the bitter tasting beers. So now its just CL at 11.99 an 18 pack. I do every once in a while go get a 12 pack of the good stuff.
  19. Well out of the 2 that you posted the PCI unit is bigger and handles more volume of water to get an Octo the same sixe you need to look at this one OCT-DDNW-250. The one you have listed is alot smaller. I think the PCI unit will work great for you like everyone says you can never have to big of a skimmer. I have a 92 and am running the octo 200 on mine and it works great. Have done a few mods to it also. Also remember the footprint on the recircs are alot bigger than the normal ones so make sure you have room in the sump for it. And last whatever one you choose check around at the LFS and ask them if they will match the internet price. I know there are a few that will even if they are only making a little on it.
  20. Yes those look like the ones. I just went throught the same thing. Keep looking for them also look for eggs. You can dip your zoanthids but it will not touch the eggs.
  21. What part of Beaverton do you live in? I can almost go anywhere on the weekends so just name a place or call me I will pm you my number. Thanks!
  22. Well both my tanks are at about 79 to 80 and the AC is set at 75. But hell I have NO BEER:eek: Thats good though if I drank it in this heat I would be a sweat stain on the sidewalk tom when I am outside all day. Days like these I wish I had a desk job(laugh) Hopefully everyones tanks stay cool and as for danger temp I think it is over 84? But not really sure I am new to this and still learning.
  23. As for what tank is best it all depends on the room you have and what you want to put in there. I like set up kris has and if you look at it you will need room for a skimmer unless you go another rout. I have the same skimmer Kris has and the footprint is not huge but it is a good size. Also think about what else you want in the cabinet as in Calc reactor or a auto top off for freshwater or kalkwasser. I know I just got back into this hobby a few months ago and all the info there is now compared to then will make your head spin(scary) Just figure out what you want to do and go from there. Best thing is just take it slow I know that it is hard sometime but it will all work out in the end. Scott
