  1. This tells me that it isn't What is good? Are you testing for Iodine? Does not make a difference. I have had MANY clams out of water for extended periods of time without issues. Just make sure to roll them around abit under water to "burp" them. You sure that this is your first clam? You have a test for Mg, but have SWF test everything else? How? And what brand of salt? Did it get you in the 1.025 range?
  2. Well, If it opens up at the store(SWF) then there has to be something not right with your tank. It has nothing to do with your halides, nor placement(unless it's getting blasted with flow). Take your water into Patrick, Have him test it with a refractometer. Get your salinity up to 35ppt. Have him test Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate. Do you use SWF premixed SW, and or FW? If not, it may be a good time to start.
  3. Do you have any inverts in this system? If so how long have they been established?
  4. Got any left Joel? I should give it a shot. What do you think of it?
  5. Served with a light aiptasia sauce! LOL I remember that.
  6. DUH! I can't believe I forgot about that little trick. I got a teeny Aiptasia on the very bottom of a rock pile I need to smother. Thanks for reminding me dsoz!
  7. Falcula Butterfly. It may munch down on your polyps though. Are the Majano's isolated? If so, I would boil the rock, scrub it, and let dry out in the sun for a day or 2. If not, there are a bunch of different methods to get rid of them, but it's going to be a long haul. Kalk paste, Joes Juice, lemon juice also have been known to work well.

    Flow

It's not too bad, those tanks are pretty stout.

    Flow

The glass is like 5/16" or 3/8" so not too thin.

    PVC to acrylic?

Weld-on # 16. I did the same with 2 DIY overflows and it has served me well. 1 of them has been running 5+years without a hitch.
  11. Whoa! Whatever it is, it definitely has a cool looking egg strand. Possibly Sea hare?

    Flow

Snapper! But, it would be alot easier if you didn't have sand. In my cube I had 1 6025 pointed in the back corner and another 6025 blasting off the front pane. It worked pretty well.
  13. Ditto! The craftsmanship of my 90g is 2nd to none! Thanks for making such works of art James!
  14. Wow Mike! Looks great. Now on with the system pics
  15. Well, I have had alot of tire-kickers, but nothing solid. I also have an optional lighting setup. You can do the setup above with MH/PC actinics for $550, or downgrade on the lighting a little bit. I have an Orbit 2x40w PC fixture that fits perfect on this tank. Without the MH setup and with the PC Orbit fixture I can do $400 So $550 with MH. $400 with PC.
  16. Sold! Hope it works well for you madmike.
  17. WOW! Nice livestock, and even better pics! FTS?
  18. save it for awhile and if I get a chance, maybe I could help you fix it. Back to taxes, what are you going to do with your rebate this summer? I'll probably spend it on a riding trip, or to help buy a quad for my daughter.
  19. Pssssh! You guys are slackers! My refund came and went. I didn't get to buy tank stuff though. Jeff, Try Weld-on 16, or epoxy(green/white). It works much better than silicone.
  20. I'm almost ready to set up my 90g, so my 30g is for sale. Details: The tank is set up to be anemone proof (no closed loops, or powerheads) I drilled a hole in the upper corner and attached an overflow box(black) for the sump drain. So I would consider it reef-ready. The overflow does not gurgle. It has a external durso pipe for silencing. The back of the tank is painted black. The stand is the original one that I bought with the tank. It has a tinted glass door. Light maple color. I had a sump custom made for the stand. I think it is 18" x 18" x 16" tall. It has a filter sock holder, and a good sized compartment for a skimmer. I have ran multiple different skimmers in this sump. Never had a problem with micro bubbles either. There is also a float valve for topoff. There is a Mag 9.5 for the return pump, which is hooked up to a SCWD , and 2 LOC-LINE outputs in the tank which cycle about every 10 seconds. I also have a 150w heater for the sump, which was only needed for 2 months in the winter. This tank ran very well and had good flow with just the return pump, I never had an anemone get caught in the overflow either. I hand made a canopy to accommodate for MH lighting. The whole front of the canopy is on a hinge so you can just lift it up, and you can easily access anything in the tank. It looks hand made, but it is definitely presentable. The canopy has 2 36w PC actinics(the only ones that will fit on a 20" wide tank). It also has a 250w MH setup with a Reeflux 12k bulb. All bulbs were replaced 5 months ago, and have plenty of life left. The MH reflector is a spider reflector(gull wing style). There is also a 6" fan for cooling. I ran this all summer long and my temperature never exceeded 82 degrees. I want $550 for the setup. I may consider parting out if I can get some reasonable offers. I can also add items too. I'm not real intent on selling my euroreef skimmer with it, but for the right price I may. I can also add some nice live rock for $3 per lb. Will try to get some pics up too, but I need to borrow a camera. Mine is broken. Thanks!
