  1. The snapper should be fine. I know an easy way to make the existing holes bigger if you're interested though.
  2. I don't know where I came up with that. I remember Reefcam(Jim) mentioning that to me a few years back. Dang, I need to head out there sometime.
  3. Oh man, Has it been 6 weeks already? I'll have to take a half day off. What time are you starting? Beer:30? I don't have my setup ready, but I can bring my cooker if you think it will help. Yeah, I think they came up with the name Arrogant Bastard, because you will feel like one the next day Count me in!
  4. If you use the 1" B/H's for the feed, adapt to 2" in tank, and get the 2" mesh screen that Andy linked to. You won't need to zip ty it. It fits around 2" pipe perfectly. The pipe ends coming out of the elbows hold it in place. Could you drill 2 more holes for the intake and use the other 4 for outputs. Contact Sequence about getting the Dart with the Baldor motor. Or even the SuperDart. It is better to reduce/adapt right at the bulkheads. P.S. True Union Ball Valves are your new best friend.
  5. Harrington Plastics in Tigard. They do not sell to the public though. You'd need to know someone with a business license.
  6. Great looking tank Nyles. Do you have a "sandbox" for your wrasse to sleep in. That wrasse sure looks like a Melanarus. http://www.marinedepotlive.com/ps_ViewItem~SearchStr~~action~view~idProduct~ML0885448-02~idCategory~LFWRMWOS~category~Melanarus_Wrasse___Halechores_Melanarus(male)___Medium_(Philippines)_Fish_Wrasses_Melanarus_Wrasse_Melanarus_Wrasse_OS%26vendor%3d.html Christmas wrasse looks like this guy http://www.marinecenter.com/fish/wrassealsoseehogfish/christmaswrasse/
  7. On M58's they look the same. On an electronic ballast that may change so I don't know.
  8. GOOD LORD! That's some chunky NAWG! That's with the Ehiem 1250 correct?
  9. It's basically just like the one JCTewks posted in your first link. Real similar to the ER/ASM venturi.
  10. I knew what you meant Hookup!
  11. That's after 24 hours the day after I set it up for the first time on a 90g. Now that I have it set where I want it, It pulls more drier, darker and worse smelling gunk, just not as much. It takes me 3-4 days to pull that amount of dark skimmate now, but MAN! IT IS FOUL!
  12. Here's a pic of my skimmer with just the RC'd 1262.
  13. Jordan, If you go the Ehiem route, get ahold of me. I'll mod it for you.
  14. Yep. Mine pulls 17lpm(no bounce) @ 40w hooked up to the skimmer.
  15. X3 Magnifica. Has it moved yet? Unless you're planning a dedicated species tank specifically for the anemone, I'd consider taking it back. They get rather large, need strong MH, and strong flow. That's good that it is eating. Good luck!
  16. Yes. The Sedra 9000 is probably running around 7-10 LPM and the Ehiem would get you another 13-17 LPM. 20ish LPM would be very good on that skimmer body and I doubt you'd need anything else to skim your system. Even if you added another 20-30 gallons:) I can't speak for the Sicce' as I haven't had one in my hands yet. I looked at the sicces on Shawns MSX300 but I didn't want to take em apart as we were busy making(drinking) beer.(clap) I did test them though. In stock form, they were pulling 10LPM and 20 watts each. With some work they're capable of much more. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Ehiem, or Sicce. I bought my Ehiem for longevity. Mine has been running for around 4 months, but I plan on it lasting more than a few years. I have smaller eheims going on 10 years.
  17. The G4 is a pretty big body for the measly Sedra 9000, even with the recirc mod. You could add another recirc pump to it, and it would rock! I'd go with an Ehiem1262 along with the 9000. But, if you're into stimulating the economy, why not get an ATB, or a reeflo?
  18. Got any new pics of the male?
  19. DUDE! We could store BEER in that!
  20. As they grow, they secrete a chemical that erodes the rock around their foot. Look for a spot that will support the lower 1/3rd of the shell on both sides. My clams have always stayed put when I put them in a spot like that. I suppose crevasse was the wrong term, but you get the idea.
