  1. I have a frag of the orange ones already made just sitting in my tank. Its about 20 polyps. Those arent as spectacular as I had hoped, but if you want to make a descent sized frag Id give you the one I was talking about, or I could make you a smaller frag if you prefer. Just let me know.
  2. Are they as blue as they look? I have some that look like this. Id be interested but Corvalis is a long ways. You comming to the next meeting in Salem? I could make some frags easy.
  3. Well Im working on some prices. From what I can see from "Port Plastics" a 4'x8' sheet of 3/8" is about $175. I think they sell em in half sheets though. Im definetely looking for other options.
  4. Haha, well give me a little while to get a few projects under my belt then id glady try and come up with something =D
  5. I have been doing quite a bit of reading about working with acrylic, and am very interested in doing a lot of DIY stuff. I am a finish carpenter by trade and have all of the tools that I need, not to mention quite a lot of experience using them. Over the next few weeks I am going to be messing around with a few sheets and making some stuff that I need. So heres my offer. Once I have a good idea of how everything works, and have been sucessfull making a few of my own projects, I will be offering to make stuff for free. All you have to do is pay for the actual acrylic. I don't plan on trying to make any display tanks very soon. But if you need a sump or QT tank, grow out tanks, or anything else you can imagine, Id be up for it. My disclaimer is that I am new at this. I am confident in my skills on the cutting, design, and construction, but I guess theres a chance I could make a ugly seam or something. I will take my time and be as careful as I can, but theres a chance something may not be beautiful. Cant really complain with free labor and all =D My guarentee is that it wont leak. Also, tips in the form of beer money, pizza, or anything else cool you might have laying around will always be accepted. Please note, this is not a business. Just some guy with a garage full of tools looking to learn. I reserve the right to cancel this offer at some point, though Im sure it wont be for a while. Feel free to post any interest you have in this. Thanks!
  6. I cant believe no one has bought this. I wish I could just because of the price, but I have nowhere to put it atm =/ id try a LFS. Im sure they would give you your asking price.
  7. 75g tank - GONE Nano - Gone 4' light - Gone HOB Overflow - Still available Zoa's are gone. Sorry
  8. 75g tank - Sale pending Nano - Sale pending 4' light - Sale pending HOB Overflow - Still available Got tons of interest in the zoa frags from the people wanting this stuff. ill post again if I have any left.
  9. Everything here I want to get rid of asap. Ill take cash or trade, all reasonable offers accepted. Sorry I dont have pics, I can get some in a day or so. Understand, everything I have is as is. I try to describe em best I can. Up for grabs I have; 75g glass tank. Standard 4ft tank, think its like 18" wide and like 19.5 tall or something. Has a chip in the back left corner. Holds water just fine. Wouldn't use as a display tank but would be great as a grow out tank or a sump or whatever you could think of. Back is painted blue and has some coralin coverage on it. Would take whatever, there like 150ish new I think. Make offer. 14g Oceanic Biocube. Got it used but never got into it. The fans in these things have bad bearings from what I have heard from others on reefcentral. Can get better replacement computer fans for like 5 bucks at frys. Also, one of the lights doesn't turn on, assuming just needs a bulb. Would be a great quarantine tank too. I think there also around 150ish new. Coralife 4ft PC fixture with moonlights. Great for a FO tank. Self contained with four 65w PC bulbs, two white, two atinic. The moon lights flicker when you jiggle the cord and one side of the white just died. Assuming its a bulb issue. Anyway, got ripped off on this fixture about a year and a half ago. Paid like 250 for it. Spent 6 months on my tank, and the rest under my bed. Again, taking offers or trade. HOB acrylic overflow. 1.5" bulkhead, id guess around 400gph, two U tubes, plus a 1.5" PVC screw in coupler(removable easily) for easy plumbing. Needs to be cleaned. Bout 80 bucks new, plus 15 bucks for the coupler. Same as the rest, offer or trade. What Im looking for. Hydor Korelia #4 powerheads x2 3" or larger healthy Blue Tang or Regal Tang Nice clam or two Interesting/rare zoa's or nice colored branching SPS. Live rock Cash money I also have like 8 diferent Zoa's Im gonna be fragging here soon if anyone is a fan. Got some nice ones. Ill post pics soon as I can.
  10. If they dont sell Ill buy em both. Let me know.
  11. I need like 8-10 lbs of live rock rubble. Anyone have any for sale for cheap?
  12. Reefgeek has a Octopus 3000 750gph pump Im gonna pick up. Should do the trick.
  13. Is there a diagram on the box listing flow? I plan to use it as a return pump for my sump. I need about 450 ish GPH going back to my tank after about 4-5ft of "head".
  14. I got it dialed. Just used a piece if 1/4" ply and some shims and got it exactly where it needs to be. Thanks again man
  15. WTB "Ocean Runner 2500" pump. Anyone know of any local shops that carry them? Also, anything against them?
  16. New two part sump from Sol. Its 1/8" too wide, but that may be my fault on the measurements. I can make it work though! Thanks a ton man.

    zoa paly

I have a great variety of zoa's. I wish I didnt mind my tank being completely blue or id run 20k lights over em.
  18. Also, in the future..... Whats the wholesale cost of the 14g biocubes? They have PC lighting, flow, no need for a sump or anything. If they were cheap enough and we could get a local store to sell them too us at cost it might be a great way to go.
  19. Im new around here, but thought I would throw this out there. 2) VHO should be plenty for a softies tank anyway. I dont see us tossing a full blown SPS tank into a beginners hands so no need for MH's. Also this reduces the heat issue and may help so we dont need the chiller mentioned =D 3) I am a finish carpenter/cabinet installer for a living. If materials were provided (sorry Im poor) I would be more than happy to build stands/hoods for these tanks. I could build a stand/hood for a 75g tank in a weekend without much trouble, unless they needed to be really fancy which I don't see being a problem in a school. Something basic WITH LOCKS on it would be easy. Gotta make sure we can lock these tanks up so kids dont screw with em. 5) Seahorse Salt makes pre mixes salt and RO/DI water on a large scale. I don't know if anyone else does. But if the teacher taking care of the tank was willing to do it, they could just go pick up water once a month for there water change/top off needs. Something I was thinking of also. Would it be better to give the tanks to a specific teacher, or to a school. If it were to a school and they were placed in say the front office, then everyone who visited the school/went to the office could enjoy the tank. Then we would just have to get the science teacher or whatever to dedicate to learning how to care for them. Edit: Something to look into about the glass tanks. Some schools wont allow glass that is not tempered due to the fact that if it did happen to get broken then it could cut someone. I know it seems silly, but its something to think about.
  20. Its very common for lights to buzz if they are not completely seated in the endcap. The electricity arcs and creates the sound. Vibrating though? I have no idea.
  21. Yeah was there yesterday. They had a few large ones, but there coloration was pretty poor. They had basicaly zero yellow on them. I am looking for a nice looking specimen. Thanks though =D
  22. Heres some pics of my saddleback. I got two of them that were the exact size, and this one killed the other one over a period of about 2 months. I am looking for a mate for her, but I want the smallest one I can possibly find.
  23. If I wasn't in an apartment Id love to do it myself, but space to set up tools is an issue. The landlord would be pissed.
