  1. Picked up this skimmer a few days ago as an impulse buy for my new 60g cube! Unfortunately my wife gave me permission to buy a 150!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess I don't need this skimmer now. Skimmer is 22" tall, with a 4" diameter body. It's footprint is 8.5x7" A steal at $50. (Firm) Rated to 100g.

  3. Since he's not a sponsor anymore, any idea how to contact him?
  4. No, Im using Weld-On #4.
  5. Well first off, thanks to those who offered me some of there worms! Apparently, there is more here to take into consideration than I had anticipated. I'm going to sit on it for a while, and do a little more reading, before I decide if I should indeed add some to my tank.

They are 5x5x8". I made them so when you catch a fish, you can stand it on it's end and it will hold 5.5" of water, but if someone needed a larger one, for say your 8" tang, it would be no problem to make a larger one. No, I haven't used them yet. I only have a 25g tank, and it wouldn't have anywhere to fit! I did try one in another tank though and it worked fine. I already learned a few things I'd do diferently. I made them for someone, so I don't have one myself. But like I said, I could make em pretty easily.
  7. Considering trying to build a glass tank. Anyone know a good source of glass?
  8. 10"x16"x20" RO resivoire. 1/4" acrylic.

Made a few fish traps today. Turned out pretty good I think. 5"x5"x8".
  10. I have good established rock, purchased from another reefer. Unfortunately, I have yet to see much life on it.(Other than coraline and macro algea)
  11. I am looking for some bristle worms, and possibly some tiny little brittle stars or whatever. Just wanting to beef up the diversity of my CUC.
  12. Dee77, you PM'ed me about my tank but I couldn't respond because your inbox was full. Thanks for the kind words guys.
  13. FTS The first frags going in. Already not real happy with the sump/stand situation. Considering some diferent options. I need more clearance, and I don't like the two seperate sumps. No room for a skimmer, so on. Just trying to decide if I should spend the money to fix this, or just be happy with it now and save for a bigger tank.
  14. Well, thanks to my beautiful wifes support, I decided I'd build a new system after a few years out of the hobby. I figured I'd share my progress. I had a 20t bowfront, but it didn't suite my tastes, so I decided to go ahead and build my own tank. The goods. I had a bookshelf I was going to use as a stand after some modification. This put me in a spot, because the central divider would require me to have two small sumps, instead of one large one. I achieved this by drilling a hole in the divider and connecting the two sumps with a 2 1/2" bulkhead. Sumps completed, and water tested. No leaks! 13x13x10.5", made out of 3/8 acrylic. I wanted a rimless tank, but know that acrylic isn't exactly the best material to make a rimless tank out of. I contacted a few local tank builders and they said I should be safe using 1/2" cell cast material. The tank itself is 25x15x12.5". I don't see any bowing yet. Building the tank. Gluing the bottom. Routing the overflow baffles. The finished project. Pretty clear seams for a noob right?! The overflow plumbing in place. Everything where it goes.
  15. Have you considered running a phosBan reactor with appropriate media, in your ATO bin?
  16. Both thanks sold. Would consider trade for pump. Would take Ricordia/zoa frags (or something else cool), or a Koralia nano 425 powerhead.
  17. I just remembered the little 780 on the front of it. Thinking that that was the size. Here ya go. The dimensions are 20"x13"x19.5".
  18. First up, a 55g AGA tank used as a sump. Has baffles in place with silicon. Easily removed. $40. SOLD Secondly, an Octopus Turbine Pump, 3000 L/H, model # OTP-3000. $40. Lastly, a 700L tall bowfront aquarium. Pretty cool little tank. No chips or anything. Some silicone in the upper left corner where a bracket had been attached. $40! SOLD [language filter], cant find a pic right now. Will update tonight. All prices are OBO! I want this stuff out of my shed!!!
  19. It's more of a factor that I would rather support a local shop, than to buy from an online retailer. However when the prices are 3x as much at a local shop, it's kinda hard to do. I am always looking for the best prices in effort to make the hobby "more affordable". =D
  20. It just seems completely stupid to walk into a shop and pay 3 dollars for a turbo snail, and 4 for a hermit crab. [language filter]. Is there anywhere in Portland that sells cheap creepie crawlies for the reef?
  21. I'm no where near 40. I LISTEN to my wife throughout the year, and pick up on little things she mentions. Then make a list of the things she has mentioned and hide it in my phone. Then, come birthday time I use that list, and she thinks I'm amazingly sweet for remembering! If your going for jewelery, check out The Gold Door on Hawthorne. One of my all time favorite jewelery shops in Portland.
  22. Would definetly take the time to attend a conference if one was within driving distance!!!! Could probably drag my wife along for the ride.
  23. Whats the info on the skimmer(#3345)? Could really use a small skimmer for my nano.
