  1. It was nice to meet you too Sean. Good luck with the anemone.
  2. Update Well, I was sent a replacement gigantea today and guess what? It was another haddoni. So now I have four haddoni carpets and I still don't have a gigantea. I am including an updated picture of the original carpet for sale and will make a deal with anyone who wants it. Since I still have concerns for its health, I will let someone have it without payment for now, and if it survives for a couple of weeks, I'll ask for the $30.00 at that time. I sending PM's to the people who responded the first time around and they will have first choice. If none of them want it, I will respond to people in the order that I receive new PMs. I will probably offer the new one for sale also. It is a little larger and a really cool green.
  3. It's doing great. It found a spot that it likes and I have not seen it deflate since I got from you. I have a couple of tangs that hang out very close to it but so far there has been no free meals.
  4. Sorry everyone, I've been off of the boards for a few days. The anemone looked really good for the first week but it is now turned inside out and has left its spot that he settled into after I put it in the tank. I could not sell it in its' current condition but I'll give an update if it turns around.
  5. I ordered a S. gigantea anemone but received a small S. haddoni instead. Since I already have two other haddoni anemones I am offering this one for sale. It will probably expand to 6-8 inches after acclimation. I am asking $30.00 for it. The following pictures are of the anemone acclimating immediately after receiving it. Thanks for looking.
  6. Thanks Mike. It is a very nice anemone. I'll post pictures after It gets settled.
  7. Yes it was. I'm sure that it infected my other clams since everything was well with the other clams before the ORA clam was added.
  8. I just lost 3 clams to what I think was pinched mantle. First was a very small ORA maxima, then a 2" crocea, and the next day a 3" derasa. I kept thinking some water parameter was off but could not find anything. It wasn't until I visited Saltwater Fanta-Seas that they told me about pinched mantle disease. I then came home and fresh water dipped my remaining crocea that was not looking good for about 10 minutes. It soon open up as normal and has looked good ever since. I wish I would have done some better research after I lost the first clam since I think I could have saved the other two. I will fresh water dip all clams that I buy from now on.
  9. Interested in the clams if you decide to part with them. I'll send you a PM.
  10. A. nigripes clowns H. Magnifaca anemone with magneta colored foot blue or purple haddoni or gigantea carpet anemone S. mertensii anemone
  11. I'm looking to add a couple of 4-5' actinic VHO or T5 bulbs to my canopy. If anybody has a ballast, harness, and endcaps please let me know. Thanks.
  12. fishmanmike01 - Too bad I didn't see this earlier since I just returned from a 4 day visit to McMinnville, however I do have some left and would be happy to let some go for cheap. Just let me know if you are in the area and want to come over or meet somewhere.
  13. Yes I do. Let me know if you are interested.
  14. I replaced my OTP 3000 with a sicce pump about 3 months ago. I ordered it directly from Saltwater Connections who is the Canadian importer for the pumps. It arrived modded and included both a pinwheel and mesh impeller. It is running on an Octopus NW-200 and is producing very fine bubbles. It may have cost a little more this way but it was basically plug and play as soon as it arrived and matches up to the skimmer very well.
  15. Just wanted to let everyone know what a great transaction I had with Smann. Thanks again for the great corals.
  16. The biggest difference is that they branch in a corkscrew kind of way instead of an encrusting mat although they will encrust at the beginning. I don't think they are any harder to keep than gsp. Mine are growing under both direct and indirect MH lighting but I think they will tolerate different kinds of lighting. Shoot me a PM if you would like to meet for some trading.
  17. I'll let you know when I'm in the area.
  18. I have a bunch of Briareum that I would like to trade for just about any type of frags that anyone has. I'm looking for zoanthids, mushrooms, lps, sps just about anything but brown pulsing Xenia (I will give away Xenia to whoever wants some). This Briareum is pretty cool as it grows on branches and creates some interesting shapes. The last picture listed is what a fragged branch looks like when the polyps are retracted. I will cut large pieces that will be unmounted but all you have to do is place it in a crevice of a rock or rubber band it and it will attach very quickly. Please shoot me a PM if you have anything you would like to trade.
  19. drock, I use a system similar to what you are considering. I have a solenoid on the input to my ro unit that is plugged into a timer that comes on for a hour, twice a day. I then have the output of the ro hooked up to a Kent float switch in my sump. I figured that all three items, the solenoid, timer, and float switch would all have to fail at the same time for there to be a major problem. I really don't have room for a reservoir of water next to my tank so this has been working for me for a couple of years without a problem. BTW, the dual switches that Joe sells are very nice.
