You convinced me! SuncrestReef provided me some APEX code to control the heater. The external controller will be the backup, since APEX more accurately controls temp.

Yes I am. Good point. I've seen comments that the way you're doing it is best. I do have two finnex heaters (one comes on if the primary fails). Guess the risk is if the Apex gets stuck in the on position. I know its a risk, but at some point adding more equipment isn't the best either.

Sent the Energy Bar to Neptune for repair. Was notified they replaced the "IC". Anyone know what this is?

Disconnected the energy bar to send to Neptune. Why does this still show on my display?

Followed Apex' suggested firmware update. No luck. Anyone know where I can buy a replacement Engery Bar 832 nearby?

I'll try plugging each individual device into a separate outlet. I have another energy bar on the same controller that is working fine. So I doubt it's a voltage issue coming in.

Well, I'm open to ideas. Called Apex tech support, who wasn't much help. They took my information and said they would send me two emails with some suggestions, one includes a forced firmware update which I'll do. They said there's nothing else they can do other than return the energy bar. Here's what I've tried: * Unplugged all devices from the energy and restarted controller. * Unplugged the energy bar from my UPS backup and plugged in again. * Unplugged/plugged in cable from controller to energy bar. * Tried pressing-in the reset button on the back of the energy bar, but it's not popped out. Doesn't appear to be tripped. * Lights on the front of the energy bar are working fine. Appears to be communicating fine with controller. Controller says, "Voltage Error".

I'm on my way home now to troubleshoot. I did ask to have the skimmer unplugged, however the problem still continued. Perhaps you're right, maybe it's one of the other devices.

I first received an alert regarding low-wattage on my skimmer. Then the energy bar seemed to stop. Attached is a screenshot of my alarms. The two that indicate off were when I restarted the controller

Zero watts, amp, volts. Tried rebooting, but didn't help.

One of my energy bars appears to have failed. Although the lights on the energy bar are functioning no power is going to devices. My Apex controller is displaying a message that says voltage error. Any suggestions

If you set up a new tablet, I'd be curious how you do it. It's my understanding that the tablets previously setup no longer allow unlocking. I had installed CyanogenMod on an Amazon fire tablet. Would be curious.

I was looking for a goby today. When I arrived they were courteous and asked about my setup. They then showed me a tank with 8-10 goby types to choose from! Wow.
