  1. Having dealt with just a few scratches on a 40G by hand years ago, I'd definitely either get this done by a professional, or go for the power tools for a tank that large! You'll be working on this for ages, by hand, unless it's just a quick Novus buffing!
  2. It would probably work fine, if you have the patience etc. Would you be able to afford what you really want if you sold all the separate fixtures you have now?
  3. 48" Tek light, 8 T5 bulbs, no MH on that tank.
  4. I'm running the following: Back ******* ATI Blue Plus UVL 75/25 ATIBlue Plus UVL Aquasun ATI Blue Plus ATIAquablue ATI Actinic ATI Blue Plus *********** Front If you like a bluish (probably about 15k with the full set on, 22k with with dawn/dusk only), this works great! I may try a GE in plce of the aquasun, or maybe switch out 1 Blue Plus for a 10k bulb to see what happens. I wish I could take a good pic, but I'm a dolt when it comes to cameras, and everything always looks washed out and not at all like the real thing, when I try for a full tank shot. Feel free and come by for a visit, if you are nearby!
  5. And man! What a difference! I'm blown away by how much the lighting can change how the corals look! There are colors I've never even seen before. So, if your corals are looking dull, try a different bulb or two! The branching monti that was supposed to be a superman, actually looks like one now, instead of mainly orange, and the AOGs practically glow! All the oranges and greens pop! It's fairly blue with the dusk/dawn set of lights on, and very bright, with a touch of blueish, when the full set is on! I'm extremely happy and I *liked* my tank the way it was before! I might try a GE 6500K instead of the Aquasun, just to see what that does at some point, but I'm happy I finally scraped together the money and made the order!
  6. I'll see what happens, but don't hold your breath! It may be a while before I get to it. Would you be willing to pay $10 for a small piece? Like a half inch one?
  7. Oh, you mean on the frag rack? That's supposed to be a pokerstar, and I'm not ready to let that one go. It's encrusting onto the frag rack, and if I can get pieces off that... But they'd be very small.
  8. Well, as I said, some of these aren't cut yet, and I won't until I know someone wants them for sure! The ones that are already fragged can be picked up any time. Did you mean you want one frag of the orange (possibly superman) monti? Or two? It's the branching kind from the pic, not an encrusting.
  9. Gauging interest in the following: Montipora spongodes $10 for 1- 1.5" frags, 1 frag ready (spoken for), could make more Pink with blue-green chalice $15 per frag (would be about 1x1" pieces) Orange branching Monti (was given to me as superman, but the base didn't really color up under my T5s. Maybe it would in your tank?) $10-15 Zoas that look green bay packer-ish to me $10 for the frag Have one frag ready, but could make more (the "ready" frag is sold) Blue-tipped tenius $15 per frag Pic is of the mother colony smack in the middle of the photo (I also have tons of the zoas surrounding it, if anyone is interested! The green, and the fire and ice kind.) I've listed what I have frags of now, but the rest I would just cut if someone really wants it. Not enough space for extras on my frag rack! Edited to add: I will be in Portland in the near future. Not sure of the exact date, but possibly Halloween, during the day, or Monday, Nov. 9th. Date could change depending on my husband's work schedule.
  10. I'm going to be in Portland in the near future (not sure of the exact date, but possibly Halloween during the day, or Monday the 9th).
  11. I always have orange and green rics (in Eugene). $5-15, depending on color and size.
  12. I'm coming up to Portland in October (most likely on the 14th) and signed up for these early on. Any chance there might be a frag ready around then?

    Superman ????

Well, I got a piece of brown encrusting monti that turned into a beautiful rainbow! Maybe all these just respond to different lighting and other conditions, and aren't really different montis at all?
  14. I'll get some electric grease to have around in the future!
  15. I just worked on it again, and finally it came lose! Should I do something different when putting in the next bulb, to make future removal a little easier? Is it normal for them to be so hard to get in and out?
  16. Is there a trick to getting these out? One end is loose, but the other is stuck and I'm afraid to pull too hard for fear of breaking it.
  17. Looking for something like a Dell Axim X50, Nokia N810, Archos 5 or 7, or even an old Palm TX, if the price is right. A small wireless internet device, that I could also use as an ereader. Or if someone is getting rid of their older ebook reader for cheap, I'd also be very interested.
  18. I've got a rubbermaid tub you can borrow and an empty salt bucket! Also a couple of 5G containers (the type you pick up saltwater at the stores with).
  19. I have a rainbow monti myself, and kind of need some cash. Maybe a partial trade for something else? What do you have?
