  6. Hello. My name is Dave, and I reside in Newberg,Oregon. I've been reefing since Nov. 2005, but I've had fresh water for toooo many years to count. I always wanted to do salt water, but I just never got around to it. :( I currently have a 116 gal display with a 55 gal. 'fuge, and a 24 gal. sump. My tank is a mixed reef tank with a few fish. I'm in the process of setting up a 150 gal. display with a 25 gal. 'fuge and 47 gal sump.
  7. I have a 15,000 btu window AC unit. My house stays cool and my stays tank is cool. I would've liked to buy a chiller, but the AC unit has more bang for the buck.
  8. Woody's nw seahorse aquarium has salt water also. 21st and columbia blvd.
  9. My clowns have been clowning around again. They have more eggs. Come and get 'em.
  10. That was right on the mark. Sometimes I wonder why we even bother. Oh yeah now I remember, they have that little patch of...........oops. never mind.
  11. Beach combing has always been the main attraction for me at the coast. I hear people whining that they never find any cool shells, I always find a ton. On my last trip to the beach I brought back about thirty fossilized shells.
  12. I wouldn't worry to much about their behavior. My clowns are really, really rough with their anomone. They act like dogs rolling in the grass. The anemone doesn't seem to mind.
  13. I've owned a Aqua-c remora pro. It was a great skimmer for what it was.
  14. It's supposed to float, that's why it's called a float switch. (I'm sorry couldn't help myself) There are so many different types that it's hard to say. Hook your pump up and plug it in, then adjust your water level from there. It's one of the cheapest items that I bought for my tank, but I think it was the best investment that I made. I can go away for the weekend :)no problems:)
  15. Your tank looks good. Welcome to Oregon, and welcome to PNWMAS.
  16. So it looks like America is going to have a pop culture love affair with the aquarium. I wonder how long it will last. It will most likely drive the cost of livestock up in price. But when it's over, think of all those big tanks for sale.
  17. Are we still going to do Monday night chats at 8:00 p.m.?(whistle)
  18. Or you could just get up off your duff, and go to the meetings.
  19. SQWD or squid will reduce your flow by 40 to 50%, or so I've been told. I own one brand new in the box, I never used it due to that fact. Have you looked at the hydro-flo device? Or an oceansmotion 4-way? Don't forget the more elbows or turns that you put in the plumbing from the pump the more flow reduction to the tank.IMO
  20. My serpent star will eat most anything, including pellet food. I give him little pieces of shrimp and squid. He tried to take down a turbo snail once, it was fun to watch.
  21. Nice job. Looks very professional.
  22. GEEEZ. I've never seen that ad at the travel agency. The mere thought of all those anemones makes me.......OOPS. Wrong forum. Never mind.
  23. Welcome aboard....Nice looking tank.
