  1. Hey Dan does the desjardini eat from your hand yet? Looks like it's eating very well.
  2. Ryan I believe it's a desjardini. Fo real tho. Its got those orange vertical lines. So Dan you want a blue hippo tang too? LMK.
  3. I heard (from an questionable source) that not all of the berghii nudibranchs eat aptasia. Is this true? I need to get rid of my aptasia as well. Oh yeah, does the berghii nudis eat the whole aptasia, or does it leave some of the foot to become future aptasia?
  4. I guess that would sound about right. The membrane is what really costs a lot of $$$.
  5. Hey, this just recently happened. One day NO water was coming through the intake tube. I tried everything, checked the pump, looked at water level. Then I decided to try to clean the intake tube, and Lord behold, there was a huge piece of algae stuck in it! Now it works better than when I bought it used. So like I said before in this tread. You've got to clean it constantly.
  6. Does anyone have an aptasia eatting nudibranch that they could possibly loan? I've got quite a few in my refugium, and they have dwindled my pod population. Sooner the better. Mahalo.
  7. IMO the pink tails are the most colorfull. I've seen them in the wild and they have pink (of course), green, yellow, and orange on certain spots on their body. If I got a reef safe trigger I would choose a pink tail.
  8. oh,.... well I guess it was a chiton. Now that I think about it I first thought of a limpet. Two different things.
  9. No it wasn't a chiton. The "shell" was flexible and could curl up a little. I found it on the shell of one of my clams. Now it's doing really well in about 5 days time. And it was as big a a pill bug. I know, maybe it was a saltwater pill bug! LOL. I looked the photos but it didn't look anything like that. Hopefully this is just a false alarm.
  10. ryan you are a sarcastic a-hole. It's like watching Family Guy.
  11. With the rotifers, you would use LIVE nannoclopsis because it helps take out ammonia and nitrates. Kinda how chateo works. No chemical (I'm assuming) added to the tank. Alright Jordan, it's on like Donkey Kong.
  12. Who is the producer and what grade is it?
  13. [language filter], and I just changed to the Seachem Reef Salt. I guess I'll be going back to Reef Crystals.
  14. Hey what do clam parasites look like? I found a pill bug looking one with a light tan "shell".
  15. Wow thanks guys. I read both of them with respect and now I have a better understantding of kalk than what I had before. Now time to make a kalk reactor!
  16. AMQUEL? What is that? I know Joel has misktakenly brought in some phyto for rotifers. I think he thought it was rotifest or something. When I get my rotifers going you can feed them that. How many more days till the eggs hatch?
  17. Hey, you got bags of kalk too? How much are those? See you on Saturday.
  18. It's Jansen, but I've seen it spellet Jensen in the U.S. before. I think the correct/original spelling from Germany is Jansen. Just like my last name is Correa, but there is also Corriea. [language filter] people at Ellis Island, didn't get it right.
  19. Oh yeah, I'm recomfirming my one bag of MgCl and can pick up this Saturday if we get our act together.
  20. Well I normally use CaCl as 2 two part soulution. Just got to dissolve two and a quarter cups to one gallon. Something like that.
  21. So when you first add kalk to the RO water there should be Kalk everywhere, but it should dissolve completely. Is that right? Even if you have 2 teaspoons per gallon of water you are mixing it with? So when do you know you have to add more kalk? Do you have to make sure that the kalk reactor is air tight to prevent CO2 from entering and creating precipitate? Also I heard that kalk makes your skimmer work better. Kinda how ozone does, is this true?
