  1. Ok, I think I'll retract my previous statement. Remember me saying that I think that Jason's prices was high....? Well I was wrong. I bought a sweet lord colony for a FRICKEN GREAT PRICE. I'm not even allowed to tell you how much I bought it for. While I was there I also got an Idaho Grape, which was also a good price as well as a green striped yuma. For all of those who will want pics, I'll get them on Sunday as I am booked all day today. All in all, I spent less than...well I don't want to say so he doesn't go bankrupt before his grand opening. If you want to know how much I spent, go talk to Jason. He'll hook it up. Much Mahalos to you, Jason.
  2. Ok so the wellsophillia is sold and the following have wanted some frags. Mike- subulata, and slimer? Shawn - subulata, green porcilipora, and porcilipora stylopora unknown acro (it's brown now, but the mother colony has green polyps with neon fluresent purple tips. Not like the bonsai.)
  3. Randy I'll post some pictures of the subulata and the porcilipora. The subulata can almost be mistaken for a tenuis and the porcilipora is thin branching. I've been busy with school (ochem 331,332) this summer and I've got to work on top of that. I'll post some pics on Sunday cause I got to work all day today and tonight I've got a 21er I've got to be the DD.
  4. Well the Wellsophillia has been spoken for as well as the yellow slimer and a frag of the blue subulata. I can still cut a few more frags of the subulata if anyone else wants one.
  5. Ok, I've got a large open brain, Wellsophyllia (Trachyphyllia radiata) that is way too big with the new, smaller tank that I have. It's purple with neon green stripes. I feed it frozen krill from time to time. When it is fully out it has a diameter of 6". Right now I have it squished in the corner of the tank to prevent it from stinging my SPS's. I've also got another large lobophilia. Unlike the circular ones, this one is linear. The skeleton alone is 7" in length, with the meaty part hanging over making it 9" total. It has a light red rim with a turquoise center. It can smell when I am feeding my fish frozen, so the tenticals come out and I feed it krill around once a week. Was once my most favorite coral, now it is just taking up too much real estate. I am only looking for SPS frags, ricordias, and maybe some very cool zoos. If you don't have anything to trade I can also sell it. If anyone wants to take it ASAP I will make it worth your while. I can also frag out my larger colonies such as the blue subulata and the neon green polyped, pink tipped porcillipora. I've also got some random frags I need to get rid of. purple hydnopora porcilipora stylopora unknown acro (it's brown now, but the mother colony has green polyps with neon fluresent purple tips. Not like the bonsai.) yellow slimer Maybe some others. Right now I'm thinning the herd so I can get more room for some other cooler stuff.
  6. Dan, you brown-noser, when does the Animal House ever get any good corals that I want? I'll get fish, but when I go shopping for corals I'll go up to Joel's and Ryan's maybe swing by Upscales(wait, when I did my Hawaiian theme tank I would also go up to Joel's just to get fish from the Hawaiian shipments, so I know that they were actually from Hawaii). So I compared the prices of the corals I asked for, to those of other shops...roughly. Like I said, I only asked for prices on SOME SPS and the clams, so I don't know about the prices of the loads of the other SPS, sofites, and LPS's in there. Had a great price on a Blue-spotted jawfish though. In the end, I bought an awesome looking maxima clam. It was cobalt blue with black stripes, just like in the reef book with the clam on the cover (I forgot the name of the book). Now that I have it living in my tank, I think it was worth the extra money I paid. I like to support the shops with quality livestock and good customer service(not the ones with quality livestock and poor customer service). Especially Jason, because he might be a potential sponser, and he has just started up his shop. I work for a small business, so I know how rough it can be at times. That is why I buy ALL of my livestock and equipment local to keep great shops like Waves, Advanced, upscales, (and potentially Coral Reef Center) in business. I don't like to ask for "deals" as some of us do, but if there is something that I like and it's in my budget, I'll get it, no "DEGRADING" questions asked. I mean hey, they got to feed their families you know.
  7. Yeah, I stopped in yesterday too. Everything is nice and clean. 3 huge prop. tanks with SPS, maxima clams, large acan pieces, and some other stuff. All nice livestock. I didn't see a brown piece the whole time. Jason has spent A LOT of money on this store (trust me). With around 20+ PFO 4 ft. light fixtures with MH to VHO's. That's a lot of money alone. Not to mention the 3 custom made prop tanks, and 2 or 3 custom made sumps (comparable to the prop. tanks). I am glad that he has spent the money on quality equipment though. It will pay off in the long run for Jason. And for everyone in the Valley, it is worth that 1-2 hour trip instead of 2-3 hours to go up to Portland. To me it seems that for everything in the prop. tanks that I asked prices for it seems like $10 more than I would expect. That is just me personally and I'm not saying that he is expensive. He has extremely awesome stuff, and that is worth paying $20 more for. Plus start up costs is a biiittaach, especially with all of the equipment in there.
  8. I'll take 2 more for my buddy. So Jansen-4.
  9. Jansen-2 I might need to get a couple more for my buddies, but I'll see. Wow, thanks for helping out Joel, you're such a nice guy.
  10. Yeah that area around Cpt. Cook is protected, and I don't know if you noticed, but that is where some of the soverinty leaders reside. Not the safest place for people.
  11. What can I say Miles, I'm so famous that they've got a road dedicated to me. LOL. (Palani is actually one of my middle names) Where did you stay, the Mauna Lani? I know for a fact that it's on the Kona coast some where, and it's not on Ali'i Drive (well it might be if it is further down the road). Did you go hiking around Kilauea crater? Man I ran the whole 13 mile trail around the crater twice (not in one day, and this was when I was in shape). It's a beauty. I'm glad you went to my home and appreciated the beauty of the land. Hurry up and post up the rest of the pics so I can see where you went.
  12. You guys are too funny. Remember I got your tank ready, it's cleaned and waiting by the door.
  13. I'm trying to help my friend here and nothing seems to work. We tried primitivly closing up the two down pipes, filling ithe outside box up with water and releasing it to suck out the air. We also tried just shooting water into there with a tube and a powerhead. All the time the water line in the tank was above the height of the inside box. We even tried both at the same time. We need help.
  14. Jordan, come one over to look at what I got. It's a 5/8" T that adapts into a 1/2" in the T for the RO line and it has a valve on it. All in one. I got it for $5-$6 at HD. I've got that rigid tubing under the bathroom sink and I works out fine. Just got to cut into in, and once you leave you can just leave that fitting in there, close the valve, and buy another $5 setup.
  15. I've got a 20K hamilton that's only used 4-5 months.
  16. It's even got the stickers on on it
  17. If you want a rounder look I've got a 55 gallon hex tank that is 24"X28.5"X24" It has three sides with a black back and rounded corners. Brand spank'in new with locklines drilled and a coast-to-coast style overflow box. PM me if interested.
  18. is there an electric hqi ballast? I think sunlight supply might have one? I'm not sure.
  19. hey you know who to call when you have to move tanks. Especially Curtis.
  20. I was wondering which brand has the "best" 150w DE HQI bulb. I got the aqualight from coralife with the 14K bulb and it sucks. It held on to it's white/blue color for about 2 months and now it is yellow. I'm looking for something in the 12-20K color range that brings out the colors real good and has a decent PAR rating. I was wondering who has had good experiences with GOOD 150w DE HQI bulbs. Thanks.
  21. Man Roger, those are some nice looking HAWAIIAN mangroves. LOL.
  22. That was great. It was pretty amazing that he could do a 6 min. performance like that.
