g2theram
Im looking to buy water storage containers that will fit on my shelving in my garage so i can have RODI and saltwater without going to the store. I've found many containers like this online that will work well but I'd like to find them local to portland so I don't have to pay $200 in shipping charges. does anyone know where I can get these at. This is also the link to the what i am looking at. http://www.plastic-mart.com/product/5986/50-gallon-portable-utility-tanks-crmi-50rt

WingRider62
I use one of the food grade 55 gallon barrels. You can find them on craigslist quite often, usually run about $25. Where are you located?
g2theram
I'm in Vancouver. I'm trying to find one similar to the shape I listed because I'm trying to fit it on my metal shelves in the garage. When we moved in there wasn't much storage at this house some bought nice metal shelves from Costco and bolted them to the ground. Then tossed in my tool bench and gun safe. There's not much room left to have something free stand unless is going to sit in front of something else. jadams7
I would try farm supply stores, they usually have a good selection of larger water storage containers.
matty
I use these, they fit on my metal shelving. I put a bulkhead in it and reduced it down to a 1/4" push fitting that accepts the hose from my RO/DI. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001B1C4G0/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1454274117&sr=8-3π=SY200_QL40&keywords=rubbermaid+tote&dpPl=1&dpID=41uT2oDRwFL&ref=plSrch Not as large as the one you are looking at but might work if you can't find those. Do you find that the walls hold up structurally over time? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
matty
I've only had it for a few weeks but they are very sturdy/rigid like their trash cans. I have mine filled to near the top and I can still put the lid on so its not bowing much. I got mine at Lowes, you can check them out there before buying. That's a great solution! I've used the lighter duty versions full of water, rocks, and corals during tank moves for temporary housing. The light duty ones bow out a little, but there are no seams to blow.
