I like garretts name for it, much more marketable than mine I'd like to add Ultra to the title, so how about the; "collectors limited edition ultra brown bomber acropora" now thats got mass market appeal! It would probly be best to post on this thread but im going to try to change the name of it to "brown bomber challenge". I was thinking about maybe a picture a month, the more the better though. I say we do! Lets make it a little comp. Should have saved your $25 gift cert This ones all about bragging rights, plus the prize is the nicely colored up coral! Color is subjective... Agreed, but sometimes there's that that wow factor.
ShaunMonahan
Some background on this coral: This colony came from OIAB. This was in one of those tubs prior to them being taken down. Cos claimed that this brown turd sps could/would not color up so I took the challenge and took it home. This sat in my cube for 2-3months resuming the poop color you see. After a while, the tips became blue in my tank and the coral doubled in size - but never colored other than the blue tips. I gave up on it after 5 months (under 250w radium) and took it into Nick's while working there, and the next day I came in this coral was gone. James, it's a true LE turd colored sps coral. It liked high flow and light and grew fast in these conditions. I will follow this thread to see how this thing progresses. I am curious to see if anyone can get the blue tips back on it. Toby Flenderson
That is a great piece of info Shawn. I was discouraged when I first read that but I think this just ups the challenge. Hope this isn't a dud.

Toby Flenderson
This is a pretty slutty coral. It gets around. I love it, crazy how one brown piece of coral can be tracked to so many places. I can't remember who's sig this was on but some one has "if you reef with someone, your reefing with everyone they ever reefed with". [language filter] slutty corals. ShaunMonahan
That's awesome! I am thinking the trick will be to start with a very small frag and get it to blue up then hopefully as it grows, the color will stay. The challenge is on. I may have to participate in this one as well...
