Official CNC Zoanthid Grow Out Thread

Recommended Posts

hey now.. life gets busy so hopefully i can still sneak in here. Its not like mine has blown up in the past week.

anyways..
the polyps are in my frag tank that is connected to my main system. 250 gallon display, 50? gallon frag tank, 100 gallon refrugium and another 40 gallon low flow refugium. All in about 400 gallons of water. Big skimmer, chaeto, carbon and gfo, 250 watt halide over the frag tank.

I have four polyps, two have been opening nicely, the other two.. not so much. and i am growing algae on the plug. lol

Including tank size, flow, lighting, placement of the frag, frag measurement, equipment (ie calcium reactor, dosing, etc), feeding regiment, etc.

Tank Size:  100 gallon frag tank, part of 450 gallon system.

Flow:  Two Jebao WP60s, 1 DC 12000 (under rack)

Placement:  Left side of pictured frag tank, a little on the lower light periphery.

Equipment:  Calcium Reactor, Dosing Balling Lite Part C, Feeding Coral (None).  Dual Skimmers (RO XP 3000 and RO 5000 with auto neck cleaners) Recently started using aqua vitro a few times a week though.  Never do water changes...

Frag:  I am counting seven heads even though you cannot see them all in the picture.  I think it is already growing!

Let me be the first to post the second update.

I am still with only 4 but all are open and healthy appearing. Which is great since they had floated off the plug and were smashed and glued back. 😉

(4th polyp is on the side you can’t see with this view. ) I moved it to a lower light area and flow and seems to be happier there.

Thanks! I'm using my Samsung Galaxy S8 in pro mode. Turning the white balance all the way up helps get rid of the blue wash from the lights. Manual focus helps too so it doesn't focus on anything you don't want. lol
