  1. That’s amazing! What a fun, well-planned, and well-executed event. Thank you all for putting this on.
  2. @Gil&Fin Holly, will we be able to keep our purchased frags floating in a frag tank until it's time to leave, or should we bring coolers?
  3. That’s one of the things I like about many moth photos...it’s easy to gauge the relative size of the moth when they’re on window screens since most screens have a standard mesh size. My moth above spanned about 10 squares, but yours covered at least 50 squares. That’s a chunky moth!
  4. Wow, I count about 22 entries within a minute. I already have a red goni so I decided to pass on this one.
  5. Speaking of escargot, I saw several of these in France last week, and ate a few.
  6. Holy cow!!! What, do you just eat escargot every day??? I'm hoping for turbo snail or astraea shells, about 3/4" to 1" across. Something not too wide or bulky. Maybe an assortment of 5 shells would be awesome.
  7. Just to keep the Silence of the Lambs theme going, I spotted this one on my window today. My macro lens isn't just for corals you know! Not as colorful as the Deceptive Sallow Moth above, but pretty hairy: (and I need to clean my window screens)
  8. I'd love to if I can find them. I've only spotted one of them in over a month, and when they're on the rocks they can disappear into holes very quickly, so I'm not sure how easy it would be to catch them.
  9. Update: There's been a huge drop in aiptasia this month! Right now I can only find 3 in my tank, and I really had to look to find them. Last month I'd easily spot 10 or 20 aiptasia and was still occasionally zapping some with my laser. I'd say the nudibranchs have been a big success in just over 2 months.
  10. Are they the typical elongated-type conch shells? I'd prefer something more compact like a turbo snail shell (like his current home) so he doesn't knock too much stuff over. The less he's dragging around the better.
  11. Update: I re-applied the update to my FMM's and now it appears to be working. Perhaps the first update didn't complete successfully or somehow corrupted it, but it looks like the problem is resolved.
  12. My largest hermit crab, Lefty (shown below) is outgrowing his shell and needs a new home. Does anyone have any empty shells between 3/4" - 1" diameter to spare? I'll be at CNC tomorrow for the Cinco de Mayo party, and will gladly toss you a free raffle ticket in exchange for some shells. Who knows...a snail shell could win you a $250 gift card or a Waterbox aquarium!
  13. Neptune released the newest AOS update for Apex and Apex-EL yesterday with a lengthy list of new features and bug fixes. As an IT guy, I know the risks of being the first to update to new software, but I decided to update anyway. Most of the update went well, but it did mess up 2 of my 3 FMM modules by mis-identifying the sensors I have plugged in to each port. The one for my ATO normally has optical sensors in ports 1, 2, and 3, but now it shows this and it won't let me make any changes to it: I submitted a ticket to Neptune Support, but I'm not sure if they are open on the weekends. So, be warned...If your Apex is currently running fine, I'd recommend avoiding this update until further testing has been done and other bugs revealed. I'll post updates as I learn more. Here's Neptune's release: https://forum.neptunesystems.com/showthread.php?26615-AOS-5-05_5A19-is-now-available!
  14. I just noticed these new Task options in Fusion:
  15. Neptune just released a new firmware update (5.05_5A19) and the list of features includes Trident support! I'd take this as a good sign they're getting close to release. Support for the Trident Marine Aquarium Water Analyzer Support for controlled dosing of alkalinity, calcium, and/or magnesium with a Neptune Systems DŌS based on measurements obtained by a Trident This AOS has updated module firmware for FMM, COR, and WAV This AOS adds support for Apex Fallback for AI Prime/Prime HD/Hydra HD lights The AOS changes most of the alarm messages contained in email, text, and push notifications APEX Local now has the same updated buttons & icons as APEX Fusion APEX Local now includes the System View recently added to APEX Fusion APEX Local has many optimizations for use with mobile devices APEX Local has overall performance enhancements See https://forum.neptunesystems.com/showthread.php?26615-AOS-5-05_5A19-is-now-available! for full details.
  16. Likewise! Thanks for organizing all of this. Looking forward to tomorrow's offerings and Sunday's big party.
  17. This will be me in front of my computer screen tomorrow:
  18. I often wonder why my cleaner shrimp seems hyper and over-confident: https://www.newsweek.com/shrimp-are-testing-positive-cocaine-and-scientists-dont-know-why-1412562 I don't even want to guess what my pistol shrimp is on...🤣
  19. My display only has a couple small patches of bryopsis and bubble algae, but nothing like that hair algae on the chaeto.
  20. That's sort of what I'm thinking. My only concern is how it will impact my pod population since my pipefish depend on them. I'm sure there are enough pods in the display tank, but I've heard that the refugium is the best breeding ground.
