  1. My clowns stayed in the corner for 10 months before they finally discovered the anemone last week. Clowns are weird. 🤣
  2. After my mini-crash in December from brown jelly, I waited until things stabilized before adding any new corals. But once I started seeing signs of recovery, I added a bunch of new frags. Between mid-February and early March, I added at least 20 new frags and some of them were larger colonies. That sucked up a lot of alkalinity and it took me a while to get things adjusted to compensate, as seen in the graph.
  3. Apparently I listed this in the wrong section. It should have been under 5th Grade Classifieds.
  4. You’re welcome to borrow it to see if it would work for you. This is the small size porthole, so not great for longer lenses. I custom ordered a 14” long giant porthole for my 200mm.
  5. I have an Avast Marine top-down porthole with the add-on smartphone holder for sale. $30 or trade for SPS. You pick up in Beaverton or I can meet you at Cuttlefish or Paradise Coral. See https://www.avastmarine.com/products/top-down-porthole-smartphone-edition for details.
  6. My primary goal with Trident is to dial in my alkalinity. I've been testing alk every day and doing small adjustments on my 2-part dosing to try to keep it consistent, but I'm still seeing more fluctuation than I would like. I intend to start out with the standard 4 tests per day, and possibly up that to 6 or 8 tests, and to have the Trident adjust my DOS accordingly. Here's how my alkalinity has looked over the past 9 months: Once I have enough data from Trident to show a trend, I'll post an updated graph.
  7. I just received my kit in the mail today. I'll take my sample and send it back tomorrow.
  8. I stopped in at @CuttleFishandCoral today to take some macro photos. As always, Jeff has some nice stuff in stock:
  9. FYI: ICP-Analysis will test RO/DI or tap water. You just have to pay for it like a regular test, unlike some that will do it for free when testing saltwater.
  10. How much marinepure are you using? I have some spheres in my filter cups and a 1"x1"x8" block in my sump, but my aluminum is only 0.036 ppm: Have you tested your RO/DI or freshly mixed saltwater before putting it into your tank?
  11. There's always at least one jerk online trying to exploit a situation: (for the record, I am not that jerk)
  12. Sorry, I don’t know the answer on the EB8 outlets. I have the newer EB832 which doesn’t have that issue.
  13. I paid the extra $2.99 for expedited shipping.
  14. I kept refreshing the screen after I placed my order and watched the stock qty depleting rapidly. It reached zero around 11:55pm. Our orders went through and we’ll get them. Can’t wait for Monday!
  15. Yes! Good job. I wasn't sure if anyone would see my post soon enough to still snag one. I can't believe they went on sale early. If I had waited until midnight to check BRS, they'd already be sold out.
  16. Wow, BRS jumped the gun and listed the Trident for sale early! I just ordered mine at 11:44pm. It said they had 60 in stock. Go there now while they last!!! Now it says 44 in stock - HURRY!!!
  17. I have mine set to run for 2 minutes every 6 hours: Fallback OFF OSC 000:00/002:00/358:00 Then ON If Output EB_3_Skimmer = OFF Then OFF The OSC timers are: 000:00 = zero minutes after midnight until the first run 002:00 = two minutes of actual run time 358:00 = 5 hours & 58 minutes to delay until the next run I've found 2 minutes gives it enough time to thoroughly wipe the neck clean. Adjust the timers to your liking. The last line of code keeps the Swabbie off when the skimmer outlet (EB_3_Skimmer) is off. I don't want it to accidentally start rotating when I'm in the middle of skimmer maintenance. If your skimmer is controlled by your Apex, then substitute the name of your outlet in that code, otherwise remove it. Let me know if you have any questions.
  18. Congrats! I love my swabbie. Will you be controlling it with an Apex? If so, I can share my programming with you if needed.
  19. Neptune is doing a livestream right now to release the Trident! It goes on sale tonight at Midnight.
  20. Looks like a duncan to me.
  21. I can relate. I got addicted to windsurfing in high school while living in Michigan. I'd sail through thunderstorms and tornado warnings, sail on partially frozen lakes, and in winter I'd mount my sail to an oversized skateboard and sail around shopping mall parking lots after midnight. This obsession is why I dropped out of college and moved to the Gorge to get my fix. I broke several bones in my foot and nearly drowned in 70 mph winds. After 3 straight years of 200+ sailing days per year, I got bored with it and sick of being broke, so I moved to Portland and started my computer career. Now I'm retired and haven't been on a board for over 15 years. I'd take it up again, but I'm not interested in ending up in the hospital!
  22. I was doing forward loops before kiteboarding even existed. Nice shot!
  23. Yep, it’s a 7’4” custom fiberglass board made for me in 1991 when I was a college dropout windsurf bum living in The Gorge for 3 years.
  24. I’ve currently got about 62 gallons for auto-top up at the moment. That should get me through this heat wave. 😎
