  1. I saw that. My problem is I'm gonna be chopping the car up for a widebody kit, extensive interior work, and it's gonna get a 3 rotor. I'm 6’4” so I have to get a non sunroof car which makes it even more rare of a car considering only some base models, and r2 cars had that option. I just don't want to be destroying a super rare us spec car for my build when I could get a jdm model for a dime a dozen.
  2. At least in Utah, when the r32 skyline, and all the cool cars that came around that time frame became legal for import tons of importers started popping up like crazy. There's a few local ones I've come across, but I want to go to a good importer that finds quality cars for good prices and doesn't try to widen their already large profit margin by horrendously up charging on a broken pile, then ship through a less than cautious shipping company and get an even more beat up car.
  3. Has anyone here ever imported a Japanese car through an importer? Lately I find myself dreadfully missing my fd rx7 and need another one. After a quick search even the jdm fd rx7s already stateside are about 20% cheaper. That's fairly obvious considering Japan had them for 10 years while we had them for 2. But the 94s with late 93 production dates are already legal, it almost makes more sense to spend less on a Japanese car and chop up a far less rare car to build into a racecar. So I've been wondering if anyone's dealt with it personally? Anything I can expect? Good local company to find me the car I'm looking for?
  4. I just wanna say thanks to everyone who grabbed frags at the meeting. It was awesome finally meeting you all, and I really hope the frags do well for you! And for those who weren't able to make it to the meeting don't worry! I still have 10 or so mostly smaller frags.
  5. I'll be bringing frags to the meeting, but will have time after.
  6. I'll be bringing a bunch of pieces of my spathulata, and could bring kryptonite candycane, purple tipped hammer, and an orange acan colony if there's any interest
  7. From my research it seems nearly impossible to keep enough aiptasia to breed them for a resale purpose. Most places that breed seem to offer a 1 to 1 healthy live rock for aiptasia covered rocks in attempt to keep their foodsource stocked.
  8. When you all have cleaned your tanks free of aiptasia, and have offspring to sell I am definitely interested in buying a few.
  9. Sorry for the washed out blue photos, too lazy to get out the DSLR. But I've got 10 nice chunky, multi branch frags, and 15 smaller frags. Some of the frags ended up being huge! Due to how busy I've been with work it took me a week to get it all fragged down. Most of the smaller frags were cut first as I was working my way to the insides of the colony to get the larger frags. So far all frags have survived, and showed pe within 30 minutes of being back in the tank. Color is looking good! The pieces Ive had in my nano since I got the colony are healing nicely and showing awesome colors.
  10. I work in woodburn, but I'm closer to brooks than Salem if that helps.
  11. I was able to make 25 total frags. Some of which are quite chunky, and extremely colorful. Some frags are smaller, closer to the 1-1.5" range. Most were fairly exposed to light and show ideal colors. Some of them were shaded under branches and don't have their full colors. I'd be willing to do the chunky ones for $30, and the smaller frags for $15-20 depending on coloration.
  12. Im planning on it, my work schedule is getting a bit crazy this week though, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to swing it.
  13. Im hoping to make it. I started a new job recently, and so far it's been decent enough to give me a regular schedule. I'm just not sure if I'll be able to swing it with family in town! Im sure I'll have plenty of frags healing for a long time. The colony is fairly good sized, had to use a bucket to acclimate it. Im hoping to make it to the holiday meeting and could bring frags then if I'm able to make it. I don't wanna jinx it but so far color is looking great, and all frags have survived.
  14. Oh don't worry! If this was an aquacultured colony I wouldn't even be fragging it. I would honestly rescape my entire tank for it. The colony is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately being a wild colony that's only been in captivity for a bit over a month It's just too risky to leave the colony whole for much longer in my experience. Frags can be more evenly exposed to lighting and flow and seem to have a better survival rate. Even aquacultured colonys can have issues going from tank to tank, or from flow and lighting changes in general.
  15. It's a neat piece for sure! Something I couldn't pass up.
  16. The other day I stopped in at the premium aquarium to get some bulbs, and checkout some fish. Well, I have a serious addiction and can't look at anything until I thoroughly inspect all the acros. I came across this really interesting spathulata and couldn't walk out of the store without it. Ive began fragging the colony down to help heighten it's chances of survival in captivity. Ive got a few nice chunky frags cut already, and will have far more than I have space for here shortly. My brother has already nicknamed it fruity pebbles. Though it looks as though unique corals had a similar specimen once upon a time. Ive included a photo from them to help show the colors my potato phone isn't able to capture. I am trying to recuperate some of the money I invested into the colony, as well as spread some pieces throughout the local hobbyists to help guarantee it's survival in captivity and see what it does in different tanks and conditions. I feel a fair price for frags would be $30/per although Ive never broken down a wild colony and sold frags so quickly so feel free to give me some input.
  17. I would have had alot to offer. But 3 months ago I had an alk crash that killed off 60% of my sps. I've found quite a few nice og pieces at all things aquariums in wilsonville, and his prices are absolutely great. Worth checking out!
  18. First one looks almost looks like an off color tri color valida to me, and second looks like a tort. Possibly California tort?
  19. My ex girlfriend and I broke up late last year right after Christmas because I spent $1500 on a frag pack for myself, and $600 on a necklace she had been talking about all year long. She threw a fit and said because I spent double the amount on myself. Then I realized someone only interested in the monetary value of something isn't the kind of person I want in my life anyways. So it worked out. Except she still has that necklace, and all I've got to show from that pack is a bunch of skeletons.
  20. Cnc is my favorite! Paradise has some top quality stock though for sure. As for advice-go as big as you possibly can. And buy good lights once.
  21. Over the last 6 years, I've done nothing but work on cars. The biggest issue is when I was 18 years old, 3 years into working on cars professionally I landed a job working for a legitimate raceshop, on Utahs largest racetrack. My first day on the job I setup a nearly brand new 2016 Lamborghini super trofeo lp-690 to go race at Road America, and then started dialing in a 2010 Porsche cayman racecar they had just finished building. It was literally my dream job. Made great money, gained priceless experience, and worked on some of the greatest cars ever created. I spent an entire race season working with them before the company decided to focus strictly on the raceteam and dissolved their local shop. I ended up moving here with what I thought was a great job opportunity through references through the raceshop. The shop I came to work for simply didn't have enough work, and I worked myself out of a job. Since then I've been doing mobile mechanic work. Im just not happy with my current job, and have decided Im wanting a change of scenery. I'm willing to take a bit of a temporary pay cut while I work my way up, but I just want to do something new! If anyone here knows anything that would be a good fit for someone with a mechanical, and/or reefing background I would be super interested to hear about it! I should also mention I've successfully fragged countless acro frags and I feel that's worth noting. 😉
  22. What's the and this? I've heard great things about the ghl, and it's been sitting in my shopping cart for 3 months now lol. Just can't bring myself to order it, half of me is convinced carx is the way to go.
