  1. I have always done bag float as well. If I am concerned about the fish being picked on I release the new fish in the tank when the lights are off and all the fish are sleeping. I would get a tail spot blenny. They are small, eat well and seem to get along with everyone.
  2. I use phosban or rowaphos for my 24 gallon cube to control phosphate. It's been running for 6 years and I turn it on when my phosphates start to creep up. I also have a small bag of carbon in the back as well.
  3. Depends on how much you want to spend and what your planning on pulling with it. 2000 Dodge Ram is going to cost around $20K and that's with 150K plus miles (They are holding their value). If you are wanting a newer pickup the Dodge Ram with the big diesel is going to be in the $40k plus range, but is a little overkill unless your pulling a lot of weight. The Dodge Ram 1500 has a Fiat Eco Diesel engine in the $30k range (good fuel economy). I am waiting for the new 2016 Chevy Colorado with a diesel engine. It;s a midsize truck and is suppose to come out this spring. Average mpg is around 30 mpg and will pull around 7700 pounds. I have a small travel trailer so this will be plenty for me. If the price is too high I will probably go with the Dodge Ram 1500 with the eco diesel. And Nissan Titan just released a new truck with a diesel engine.
  4. I used conduit to build mine as well. Home Depot will cut and bend it for you if you ask nicely. Finish it with some black spray paint.
  5. I hate to be Mr. Negative, but I have had around 8 different Jebao powerheads and one DC 12000..The longest any of the pumps have made it is one year. Most have quit within 6 months. I kept telling myself, I can just buy another one for the price. Don't waste your money..just my opinion.
  6. Well if you come back Hwy 22 from Bend you can hit pretty much every store listed above starting in Salem and working you way up I5. You may not have any money left when you get home. LOL
  7. I am in Oregon City...I sold light and dosing pump. But I have a used Jebao dp 4 dosing pump that I used for one year (only used 2 of the 4 pumps). It works perfect and would sell for $40...I have a Ocean Revive Artic t247 (used for a year) that I would sell for $80. Let me know if your still interested.
  8. I have the frag tank and stand left if anyone is interested. $200
  9. I have had my watchman goby and pistol shrimp in a 24 gallon for 6 years and they have never bothered any fish I have put in there. I have had a starry blenny and a bicolor blenny in the past. The most aggressive the watchman goby gets is opening his mouth wide when someone gets to close to his hole. Make sure your rock work is stable, the pistol shrimp will dig all the sand out from under the rocks on a daily basis.

    DC pumps?

My Jebao DC 12000 lasted about 6 months and quit working. Every Jebao product I have owned has quit working within a year.

  13. I have been in law enforcement for 20 years. I have heard these debates over and over again. People who are for gun control have good intentions and want to fix the problem. Gun control seems to be the easiest fix since you can just make a law to ban or control them. Politicians use gun control to make them look good (The whole look at me I am fixing the problem). Unfortunately gun control has nothing to do with fixing the problem. There is no one solution to this problem. All of these shootings are driven by religious fanatics who hate Americans or people with mental health issues or a combo of both. The UCC shooter had obvious mental health issues. These people will commit these crimes with whatever tool they can find (Gun, knives, bombs etc..) Another problem is our criminal justice system that sucks. People are not held accountable for their actions in this country. People are not scared to commit crimes in this country because they know nothing major will happen. If you look at some of the countries that have low crime rates I'm sure you will find a really good criminal justice system to go with it. Anyway I could go on for hours but to fix the problem we have to attack all of the problems as a whole in our society. This will take time and there will not be a quick fix like everyone wants. Hopefully the next President will want to work on all of these problems as a whole.
  14. When I bought the Jebao pumps I told myself, heck even if it only runs for a year I can buy three more for the price of some of the fancier pumps. But now I have had basically seven pumps and possibly a dosing pump quit running on me in a years time frame. My return pump and two RW 15s all quit while I was out of town for a day and a half. I got home and lost several nice pieces of SPS do to no water flow. I can at least say I gave Jebao a chance. Now the question is what pump do I buy. I am looking at Maxspect Gyre 150 vs Vortech MP 40. Kind of leaning towards the MP 40.
  15. Just wanted to post my experience with Jebao pumps in case your thinking about getting one. I have 4 Jebao RW 15s, 2 WP 25s, 1 RW 8 and a DC 1200 return pump. I also have a Jebao DP4 dosing pump All 4 RW 15s quit working within a years time frame. My oldest pump made it one year and my newest 4 months. Both WP 25s are just over a year old and are still running. They have lost probably 50% of their power output, but at least they still work. My RW 8 is 4 months old and no problems yet. Jebao Dosing pump is about 8 months old and no problems yet. The pumps have become more noisy over time, so probably not a good thing. DC 12000 return pump is 6 months old and quit working yesterday. I keep my pumps clean and well maintained. I did not mention all the times they have randomly stopped working and I was able to get them going again. I give up on Jebao. Time for me to stop being cheap and spend the money on some decent pumps.
  16. How about $50 for the pump and $60 for the light.....anyone?
  17. I have a brand new Jebao dp-4 dosing pump. I took it out of the box and calibrated it, but never used it. $60 Ocean Revive So26 Led light, I have been running this light over my frag tank for about a year. $80
  18. Everything sold except for the Leather Coral...
  19. Acrylic Frag Tank ( 48" x 24" x 12" ). I had this tank built by OIAB less than a year ago. The tank is in excellent condition. I have a 2 x 4 stand to go with it. Acrylic sump and all the plumbing. I will also include the hanging brackets for your lights. The tank is currently running. I am asking $400 for everything. I paid that for the tank alone. I am only selling the items mentioned above. The photos show the tank currently running. (Lights, pumps, etc.. not included) Tank, stand, light brackets and sump....$400
  20. Bow price is based on quality of the build, speed of the bow, etc....a good mid price bow will do just fine. If you go with a compound bow go to Bowtech in Springfield and they will set you up. Cabelas has a nice selection of recurve bows. The most important part of Archery is to make sure the bow fits you. A bow has to be fitted to your arm length and so do the arrows you buy. If you decide to hunt then you will need at least a 50lb bow. So again stop buy a bow shop and have one fitted to your needs. I have been into Archery for over 30 years and really enjoy it and yes its another expensive hobby.
  21. Making room in my tank. I have 4 large blue/green Chromis - would like to sell the group for $10 I have one Cardinal fish that is fat and healthy for $10 Harlequin Shrimp (NEEDS A HOME WITH A LOT OF STARFISH TO EAT) $25 Large green leather hand coral (about 12 inches across) $70 50 gallon water container and plumbed (I used to mix saltwater) $25
  22. I moved a fully stocked 120 gallon tank. I used 5 gallon home depot buckets and 10 gallon rubbermaid containers ( I borrowed most of the containers from my local LFS). I put all the fish and coral in the 5 gallon buckets. I took about 60 to 70% of the water with me and had fresh salt water made up and ready to go at the new house. I kept a small amount of the sand, but ended up buying all new sand. It was easier to put new sand in and much cleaner. I did not loose any fish or coral during the move. Its an all day project.... Good luck
