1. Here is a pic of the enclosure I am making for my lizard, Gary. This is the project in the way of me beginning a new tank build - to begin shortly after completing this. It has about 200 hours of work in it already, but mostly (like 160 hours) due to the background creation and peripherals. Also I have created a custom sump, wiring, plumbing, canopy, (not pictured - you can see the unfinished top), and lighting rack that you can't really see at the top of the photo. I just sort wanted to show off my cabinet making skills, so that I might be able to offer advice, or cabinet building to anyone who is not proficient or have the tools, time, etc. Offering more than a reasonable prices, of course. (Like materials + $10 - $15 an hour, far less than the $40/hour average) I also have a welding rig, in case anyone might want a steel stand. I can fabricate items out of acrylic as well. A typical stand would take way less time than this thing. I used to own a full-blown cabinet and fab shop in Arizona before the housing crunch ruined me (and I do mean absolutely ruined)...another story.

Thanks wannareef - checking them out now. Anyone have a reefbreeders.com fixture??? I also found these: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-shipping-Best-price-1W-version-Super-Bright-120W-LED-aquarium-light-with-63B-56W/587062331.html Customizable LED layout...but from China...great price.

LED Suppliers?

Hey thanks Emerald. But looking to do a build - I did 2 fixtures with Bridgelux chips I got from Alibaba and drivers from Rapid and optics from Steve's - I am just looking for more price options before I go back to China (via the interet that is...) Sold those fixtures with the last purge of equipment in Colorado...now setting up a new tank...in slow motion...to get everything right.

LED Suppliers?

I know Rapid and Steve's - I've bought from them before, but are there others? Any replies will be welcome - looking to perhaps do a multi-wavelength build (red, green, uv, blue, white) Maybe even with par bulbs...
6. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/for/3335050490.html They don't die, and if they do, motor and seals and volute fully repairable... Way too big for my applications - but there seem to be a lot of big tank owners here.
7. solanas are on sale for $164 @ marinedepot - http://www.marinedepot.com/Current_USA_Solana_34_Gallon_SuperBrite_Frameless_Aquarium_Cube_Aquariums-Current_USA-CU07057-FIAQRC-vi.html almost ordered one myself, but got a smokin deal on a very used acrylic 83...build thread coming soon...
8. I pair of the selectable ballasts (150/175/250/hqi) - 6 months old in original boxes with 15' lamp cords and 2 lumenarc iii mini reflectors - prototypes from the first run of the series, so not exactly as fine as retail, but the same... I also have 2 XM 15k bulbs with 3 months use and 2 SPS 20k bulbs with about 6 months use. Asking $250, but am open to reasonable offers and/or equipment trades. Looking for a really good skimmer, or LED lights, or trade + cash one way or another. note: does not show lamp cords or bulbs, I have to drag those out of storage...
9. The only thing my girlfriend has ever liked, understood, or related to about my reef obsession...ever
10. Hey - I saw this too, but now the post has been flagged...
11. I think the 3/8" would work, but it will bow significantly in the middle, I built a 4' long 120 rimless out of 1/2" scavenged pieces and it bowed alot in the front - I had 2 overflows (1 in each back corner) which mitigated the bowing in the back (almost to nothing and made the corners very strong. I eventually put in a 1.5" wide piece of 1/2" glass along the front and the bowing disappeared - not exactly a euro brace, but it looked nice and took away alot of my worry. And it made a nice little shelf for testing vials... Just my experience-based .02 Good luck!
12. Bubble blasters are a great pump - cant wait to see that gravity feed the tallboy!

14. I agree with beardedsmurf on the PITA of moving - I was planning on moving the 120g I had in Colorado and after doing a little planning with my girlfriend and talking of housing and temp setups and flying and crap - she resoundingly said "F NO!". Anyway - I'm new to the site here too and everyone has made me feel at ease in familiar waters. So welcome!
15. Something not to say to your mom - "that's a good lookin nice big clam you got there"!!!
16. That thing looks cool. And a great idea - a piece of acrylic drilled with holes exactly the size of the plug stem and legs fixed to the bottom would help them travel better on a bumpy car seat...just a hopefully helpful critique, not commentary. Quick! Get a copyright before Coralife buys you out!!!
17. AHAA!!! I should read more carefully. Yeah Cuttlefish - I lived between Longmont and Boulder...and more of a conversational lurker on MASC...I never did attend any of their meetings, but having a fresh start here and a most gracious welcome by the like-minded I'll have to check it out.
18. I thought Gorilla crabs were covered in short spikes, but I can't tell from your picture - he's cool though. I had one in a 75g years ago and he ate all my snails and hermits at first, then I got a rock with a mantis hitchhiker and he ate my crab - 1 year later I finally caught the mantis by smashing the rock he was in on my driveway with a sledgehammer...I was pissed at him...he ate my fish - all my fish!!! But a cool crab you have there nonetheless
