  1. Hey everyone, Just tore down my tank and have lots and lots of equipment for sale. Most prices are generously low, and I will be more than happy to (privately) make deals for multiple items. I can accept, cash, PayPal, and credit cards (via PayPal). Located in Albany, OR in an easy to reach location. I can be contacted via phone/text at 503-860-725(zero) - although that is also my business phone number so I might answer with the name of my business (I prefer texts during business hours). I can also be reached via PM through the PNWMAS forum, or email at beardedsmurf@comcast(dot)net. All items will be first-come, first served, and held for up to three days after being "claimed" or other arrangements are made. Communication is key. Most of these items can be shipped to you and arrive within 1-2 days in Oregon/WA for between $3-10 depending on size/weight. Will not ship tanks, sump, or frozen fish food. Pick-up or meet only on these items. Can meet anywhere in the Albany/Corvallis area to drop off anything over $25 total. For $150 or more, I will go to Salem or Eugene. Will meet in the Portland area for $300 or more (although shipping is probably just as fast and equally expensive for most items). Meetings will be at a local fish store or mall/public place. All payments for out of town meet-ups must be in advance prior to leaving for the meeting to ensure there are not any no-shows. I will be available most any day/any time between 8am and 9pm. I can text/email photos of anything on this list. Questions welcome. For a reference, Badxgillen has seen my setup and equipment and can vouch for it's quality and that it has been taken care of. Here's what's for sale: (I have saved the list of goods as images hosted remotely that I can update as items are purchased.)
  2. I've got both available in like-new condition. Send me a PM.
  3. I've bought LED lights direct from China for much lower than "retail USA" prices in the past, but once you factor in the shipping costs, it reduces that savings significantly. Depending on the number of units imported, shipping can add 30-40% more to the cost if it's only a few units. So, IMO $200 is not unreasonable for local service and support for good quality fixtures with desirable features. As to whether or not you would be able to sell enough of them locally to make it worth your while against all the other brand names out there, I can't say. You can always sell them on eBay and get a national/worldwide audience for them.
  4. Change the brightness in your surrounding room/area you are looking at this picture in (NOT the brightness of the screen you are viewing it on). Supposedly, the brighter the ambient light in the room, the darker the dress colors get towards blue/brown, and vice versa. I first saw it yesterday afternoon and it was extremely blue/black, then again late last night when the room was dark and it looked almost white and gold. Same photo, only I and my surroundings had changed.
  5. I would agree with this. I've been buying from them for years, but made zero purchases nor logins to their site during the timeframe they specified. Still got emails and a letter from them. Changed my (unique to their site) password anyway, and the only credit card I've ever used for their site expires next month so any criminals who might have gotten that info can have fun with it for about another week or two.
  6. I don't know that I've seen these products before at my LFS - this is the first I've become aware of them. I assume you're in contact with Chris - you might ask him to put something somewhere on his (very nice) website that indicates where someone can actually BUY their products! There was a tremendous amount of good info on their site, but absolutely nothing that could actually lead you to acquiring their stuff (outside of calling or emailing, which most customers may not even find the info to do THAT!).
  7. I like the new look, and it loads so much faster and with fewer errors than it had before. I had to refresh the page manually all the time in the last revision to get all the data to show properly.
  8. All for Fish in Albany carries it, too. I've had good success with it, but then again my fish will eat anything (thankfully!)
  9. If you have the know-how to do what you've said, then you already know that the true origin of this kind of spam is probably China, Russia, Ukraine or somewhere in eastern Europe. In all likelihood, it was a botted compromised computer of an innocent person like you and me that is being used to robo sign up for sites and spam the heck out of them. Taking down that person (who probably had nothing to do with it) would accomplish nothing.
  10. I believe we were promised some pics in this thread!
  11. Unanswerable question without significantly more information provided on your end. For example: Will you be providing 100% of the samples and design for each style of model you want made, or will you provide general specs and the factory has to engineer them? What features and accessories do you want included by this factory? Plumbing? LEDs/lighting? Pumps? Just the shell of the unit? Final packaging? What price are you willing to pay for the manufacture of these items and what materials and quality do you need? Do you want 1-stop shopping (a factory that can provide start to finish complete manufacturing) or will you be sourcing from multiple vendors and separate final assembly/packaging? I could come up with 10 more examples easy, but you get the idea. You need to figure out what your needs are before looking for a factory.
  12. Wow -- have fun at the expo! Oddly enough, even in a Prius, I would think it would possibly cost less to fly down there and back, and you could possibly bring back some live goodies, too! I've got relatives that have been taking the train or flying 100-500 mile trips recently because it's cheaper than driving/gasoline.
  13. Use an expired credit card or old gift card. Makes short work of the coraline on the glass, but you have to get your hands wet.
  14. How about a set of candy wax lips, a used coffee filter, 20' length of string (214 knots included for free!), and a straightened paperclip? Oh yeah, send picture of dog in the tank, too!
  15. Will you get any signage or free plugs for your business at the OA?
  16. Just saw a link to the "Oregon Aquarium" on the Oregonian's website. Anyone know anything about it?
  17. This cannot be emphasized enough. DO. NOT. USE. COPPER. IN. YOUR. DISPLAY. TANK. ***EVER*** (If you plan on ever having corals in that tank ever again... If it's fish-only, then have at it, but do not ever add any corals later on because that copper will not go away.)
  18. 1 month old thread raised from the dead.
  19. I got a good-sized frag of the Undata from John a couple months ago and it's growing like a weed in my tank. A great buy for anyone looking for some excellent corals. (actually, EVERYTHING I got from John is growing like weeds!)
