  1. Thanks Scott! I'm pretty flexible with the date and time, so I can probably work around your schedule. I'll let you know as it gets closer. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  2. When I went to Marine Depot it said for tanks 22"-30" deep. Hopefully that's the case because I will be using four over my 25" deep tank. http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewItem.aspx?idproduct=MB2664&child=MB6664 Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  3. I know bulk reef supply sells them online; I'm pretty sure Seahorse, Fanta-Seas and any spa place should have them locally. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  4. Yeah, luckily it is. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

  6. I'm not sure of the exact date my tank will be ready, but it should be within two weeks. Wannareef would have a better idea of when it will be done since he's the one making it! Once the tank is ready my dad and I will need another person to help carry it. The tank will weigh around 200 lbs and will be kind of awkward to carry since it is 48"x48"x25" and we will have to get it through doorways. I'll give whoever helps $25 for gas/time. Thanks! Petco is having their $1 per gallon sale through the 22nd.
  9. There is no harm, but the calcium might precipitate into the water column causing "snow". I would just wait it out.
  10. I couldn't find a 12 bulb 48" t5 fixture, but the shipping weight of a 6 bulb fixture is 24.8 lbs
  11. That's a good idea, but if I am understanding it correctly supports come up the sides? I plan on having the front and sides viewable, so I don't know if I want metal bars getting in the way on the sides. I don't know how the other idea attaches with the overflow in the way either. I did a quick SketchUp model of what I think you are talking about. It isn't to scale and I messed up the length on one of them, but it gives us an idea of what it would look like.
  12. I think they will be fine. I know at the big clam farms they will add nutrients to the water (including phosphates and nitrates) to help the clams grow. In Daniel Knop's book he also indicates that nitrates and phosphates are necessary for a healthy clam. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  13. I would prefer not to put anything in the wall. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  14. This is roughly how I planned to have the lights over the tank: Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  15. I have four of these I was thinking about having two lights on one hanger, so two total. I think I get what you're saying, but a drawing might help (laugh) Thanks for the help!
  16. Gill, that still might work! I'd have to give you something for your work though. Would it be possible to bend a section that just goes around and over the overflow? Kinda like this poor excuse for a drawing I made on my phone: Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  17. I'm trying to figure out how to hang four halides over my new 4' cube. I can't hang them from the ceiling and I don't plan on having a canopy. I was thinking about having bars come up off the back of the stand, but my external overflow and returns would get in the way. Here are a few pictures of the SketchUp model I did, so you can get an idea of what I am working with. Any ideas? Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
